If you race for money, you cannot race at the track. One 12 second pass will kill off your races for the rest of the year. No more easy money.
That's not even close to true unless your racing some slow cars. There are all kinds of 12 second and faster cars out there to run and the new dumbasses who would have had Hondas 3 years ago and now have WRXs and EVOs who think they have the fastest shit on the planet, but have never been to the track. Half the guys out there still see a pos 1G DSM and have no idea they are about to get waxed.

Racing for money. Works great....in theory.

Not trying to rip on you directly dude. I have street raced before. I just don't really think I will again unless I'm really not thinking. But dude, when I'm talking about street racing, I mean like down cedar ave, and 35w. If your on a closed isolated road, I don't really see the harm taking it up to like 100 or so.
still on teh street right? If so, I call it street racing. You would be stupid to race up a city road.

I am talking about the same people. The WRX, EVO, mustang, and camaro owners who think that their car is the shit. 12 seconds was just an example. Although a 12 second car is pretty damn quick for the strret. Could probly beat 95% of the cars on the road. When racing for money, you look for the easy races. You don't walk strait up to the camaro pulling 900 whp and ask to race for $100 vs your dsm only having 300 whp. The goal is to race slow cars for money. Not a big risk of losing. From what I have seen, a mid 13's crx is GOD to the street racing honda fans.

Has anyone here actually ever street-raced for money and come out with more than $5-10? I have been in the scene for over 4 years now and have seen ONE money race, and that was between CVD and some bitch-boy who lost and wouldn't pay up cuz he needed gas money...CVD ended up getting a whole $5 out of the deal.

Shane@DBPerformance 02-11-2004 12:55 PM

Nope and if you piss off the wrong people when you beat them you might end up getting shot.

Actually I've raced for money. Not too outragous, but well over $15 or whatever. I've street raced, the only times I've ever done it on a live street we never tried to run or beat a yellow/red light. I usually just race to the next stop light or whatever, just to goof a little bit. The only time we do some serious racing is when the streets are blocked off, ass late at night, and the spectators are either behind the cars, the sides of the cars when they launch, or way down the road to see who won. Out of all the times that I have street raced and watched street racing, no one has been hurt. The only people in harms way would be the racers at the time.

As for the girl, I feel bad for her that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And its good to hear that she's ok. But I also strongly agree with what Mike was saying. That could of been a drunk driver or someone just being stupid. I wonder if they still would be trying to leave the scene still? Also, fyi cuz this is sorta bothering me, he photoshopped that pic of his girlfriend. I dunno, that was just irritating me....

slowbubblecar 02-11-2004 02:08 PM

I do some racing but I am not like the stupid people downtown who cut people off weave through traffic while racing through the Lowry tunnel.

If you beat the wrong people, you get dragged out of your car, beat up, and your car gets trashed. Worth it?

Ha, no.. sadly. I believe that happened either in St. Paul, or Eagan. I forget, doesn't really matter. Some guy beat a guy in a CRX I think, and his "kr3w" beat him up and trashed his car after.

So true so true Mike. LoL. Look, if you bet big or slips or something, then dont pay up, yeh, you may get that asswhooped. And serves you right for talking shit in my opinion. And if you heard one story about how someone did something, and think that's how it is, your a goof ball. What if I kicked your ass or something? Would you go tell everyone or would everyone start saying..."OMG, dont go on any forums anymore!! If you post they'll fuck you up." No.

npaulseth 02-11-2004 02:51 PM

I didn't say it happened all the time, just that it does.

On a side note, I haven't seen anyone say "good ball" for a while, and that made me laugh :D

"He's all hopped up on goof balls"
