Sorry to hear about your problems. Your first problem was buying the car in the first place and thinking about doing a project with it. Your in high school, with little to no money. Should have bought a good running turbo model to begin with and just work from there.

But in the end, like every project, if you finish this, you will be incredibly happy. Plus I'm sure you've learned alot.

When I "got" it, I had no idea what to look for on DSM's. Sort of followed after I got it. I just knew they could make insane amounts of power.

My parents got me it as a graduation gift, early. I wanted it as a driver, not a project. But ya know, it just turned into one.:)

I'm feeling a lot better about it. I'm going to let it sit and pick up a 90-91 1.8 auto laser my friend has for 300 bucks. The motor was replaced recently, and it hasn't been modified, just driven. What I really want is to strip down most of the car and replace mostly everything with new parts...bushings, hoses, lines, etc. That's what it really needs. It's all about space and money.

You always need a second car to own a DSM. They're plenty reliable if cared for properly, but the need to modify always means some down time.

I told you it would be either yesterday or Thursday which you OK'd as your days off... Shit came up last night and I never made it back to the shop. I know you want to take a look at the shit as well on the other car and I'm pressed for time as it is with that thing.

I will be at the shop all day tomorrow so when you get out of school, if the thing is ok, bring it out and it will be fixed. I have a spare 90 ECU so you can test that to see if its your issue.

I've been very busy lately with family shit and work, its not always easy to find time when we are both free, we have talked about this. A lot of the time, I'm free at 1-2am which is past your bed time and daddy wont let you come over. I told you I would fix it, and it will be fixed, just have to find time where we are both free.

Relax its a DSM. Get use to it.

BTW... The car wasnt a N/T to start... I spoke with the owner that put in a N/T tranny and he did it because the other tranny was shot and this was the only thing he had laying around. So be happy its a turbo car! :)

Maybe a different time. I'm letting it sit so I can take a little break from it. I'll look at what's wrong this weekend.

If shit came up, a simple text message or phone call would've sufficed. But meh.

You know the guy who put in the N/T tranny? Does he have AIM or somethin?

Also, does anyone know what could've possibly caused it to throw a CEL and run very rich from grounding out the two prongs as the VFaq shows? That has to be it, as it's never thrown a CEL before I did that.

Yea. The guy who I bought it from really trashed the car. Painted the rear window, put on over-sized tires, fucked up the door panels, gauges, handbrake was ripped off, springs were cut stupidly low, BOV was un-circulated, etc.

Usually those are the kinda dsms people buy for parts cars. Buying a dsm with problems is like having sex with a chick that has aids. No matter how cheap it is, it's never worth it. :1smiley.php:

When I bought it, it was running and driving...and to me it was running good.

Of course, like I said, I didn't know shit about what to look for on dizzums.

Finally found my data logger today after school. Hooked it up, and I'm not getting an o2 reading.

This weekend I'll look into the wiring of the o2 first, cause I highly doubt the o2 senser can go bad instantly for no reason. I did take a quick peak at it, and this is what I found:

The bigger brown insolator has a sort of wire mesh covering two wires that go in it. I'm wondering if it's some sort of ground? The black wire on the bottom has a little slit in it, perhaps it was hooked up there? I'll be getting a manual finally tonight.
