The head has a 30-day money back warrantee on it as well.

AJ 02-07-2004 04:44 PM

Damn, I wonder what they want for the motor.

fmicmatt 02-07-2004 05:52 PM

I think it's a $150 for a complete engine. Or you could go there on the day they have the pull-a-thon. Whatever you can carry for $29.95. People have carried out engines or trannies or doors or whatever they could and got it all for $29.95.

I think it's $75 for just a short block.
It's $12 for an intake.

Here's a link to their price list if you want to see what they charge.

They are in Rosemount at the intersection of hwy 3 and county rd 46.

I think so. One or two of them had snapped timing belts though. It's worth a look though.

Go to their website that I listed above for better directions.

Yeah I've been there before too but when I was there, there were no dsm's there hmm its been a while since I've been there. Well if you need that head to look like its brand new get ahold of my this week avter you get the valves out and at school we have a dishwasher for parts...that thing is a god i swear!! my head looks like its brand new which is a big improvment from what it was before! pm me or im on aim all the time mostly santacruzz1822 let me know man.

MATCHBX 02-08-2004 06:29 PM

I appreciate the offer but we have a hot washer at work that is built for engines. Plus I have a lap table at my disposal that I can resurface the head with.

Normally when i go in there they have one or two dsm's. This time they had a shitload. Also, usually they are non-turbo's where as this time they had a bunch of awd turbo's (of course the turbo's were the first things robbed off of them). They are looking for help right now. Someone from here should get a job up there so we know when a dsm is going to hit the ground out there.

the dishwasher at school its a "hot" dishwasher. I believe the brand name is Cuda? idk but yeah I was just offering. sounds like you have it all taken care of... oh btw what do you do when you resurface your head? Im thinking block sand it and drop a straight edge on it or what? just wondering?

npaulseth 02-08-2004 07:17 PM

I went there today. The only turbo DSM I saw there with a head was a pretty picked over talon. It still had the 3-bolt read and everything. Tranny was gone. There was snow inside the head, and covering it, so I just said fuck it and am buying some guys head out in Eau Claire for like $50. Next time I go there, hopefully in a couple weeks, I'm picking up a set of GSX rims/tires. Anyone else need anything. I pulled off a TB jsut for fun.

MATCHBX 02-08-2004 07:47 PM

Did you go back to the chrysler line? There were a bunch of talons back there. Alot of them have snow in them because of the recent storm. Mine luckily had the valve cover still on it.

john 02-09-2004 10:17 AM

WTF, taillights are $1 per inch? Anyone bought dsm tail lights from them? How do them measure. I may get a set and spray tint them.

MATCHBX 02-18-2004 07:42 PM

Just for an update, I finally had a chance to tear into the car. Turns out the balance shaft belt snapped and caused the timing to jump. It also smashed up the timing cover. The cam gears are about 1/3rd off from what they are supposed be at. Tomorrow nite I'm going to try to reset the timing and see if it starts. Then we will see if the valves got hit.

A//// Guy 02-18-2004 09:14 PM

That will do er. How many teeth did it skip? Past like 3-5 Im sure it hit, just depends how hard.

npaulseth 02-18-2004 09:16 PM

Actually Shane said that my timing belt didn't skip. My CAS was 180* backwards. Who ever did the engine rebuild realy fuxored up on that.

Shane@DBPerformance 02-18-2004 10:07 PM

The CAS isn't 180 backwards, it's just turned as far as you can go clockwise, so it was probably running way way too much timing, which it's good.

npaulseth 02-18-2004 10:09 PM

Ohhh, I totally misunderstood you then. Well, the whole knock thing isn't good though.

MATCHBX 03-01-2004 08:53 PM

Another update. Got the head off tonite. I bent all the intake valves and the screwed up the intake cam when the rockers fell off of their perches. Luckily the exhaust valves were fine. I have the parts needed for one good head now so I'm going start getting things back together. I picked up the head gasket set yesterday. Hopefully this will only take a short while to get it back together.

I miss my car!!!!! I want to drive my car again!!!! :rally: :3gears:

Jana 03-03-2004 08:13 PM

Lucky you have all the parts...that's awesome!! :D

MATCHBX 03-03-2004 10:13 PM

I actually split the roller part of one of the rockers. I showed the people that came over to the last poker party. The nice thing is I have about 30 of them to choose from now.

I finished cleaning the head tonite and am taking it to the machine shop tomorrow. The intake valves from the junkyard head are good so I'm going to have them regrind the valves and seats for the intake. I'm going to have them look at the exhaust seats and valves and see what they think. More than likely they will be replaced along with the guides. After that things are gong to be port matched and put back on the car. Hopefully I will have it running before next weekend (not this weekend obviously).
