They have been cracking down on the tint more lately though. A highway patrol lives across the street from me and he is actually the one that stopped me to give me a warning since he didn't want me to get stopped by someone else and get a ticket. I removed all the tint except the back window because that would be a big pain in the ass.

I miss the tint because of the sun beating on me but oh well laws are laws, and at 142 bucks a pop it just isn't worth it.

i hear that. its coming off tonight, except the back window. i may go get the sides done again at 50.

what im worried about is the tint in the windows from the factory.

if i got 35%, and both times the meter showed (avg) 25%, should i go with a 60% tint? added up it would be around 50? i dunno. ill have to go and ask, see what kinds of film they have.

Go with 50% and be sure to get the sticker that states 50%. Even if it reads 40% I doubt you will have problems at that point. You did the best you could to comply with the law.

No, it had MN plates for about 4 months.

But yea, just get 50% and don't worry about it.

Holy crap that's gotta be dark looking. My friend had his truck tinted with limo black 5% and it was a bitch to drive in the city at night. Wasn't quite as bad out of the city street lights but was just all around a pain in the ass at night. If you got professional tint like I did (38%), you will less likely to be bothered. I see cops all the time in the summer and they don't bother me, both MN & WI. I'll attach a pic of my car with the 38% on it. This is professional tint that I got off ebay, not the shit you get at AutoZone or Checker Auto. The stuff I got won't fade like the cheap junk.

Wait what? I have called the cop station back home on three separate occasions and talked to three different people and I got three different answers. First time I got some weird shit I cant even remember. Second time the lady told me no tint was legal at all. The third time the cop even left and called me back with what he found (and that I had believed) is that it was 35% on the front windows and anything behind didnt matter. Was he wrong???

thanks.

i took off the tint from the 4 windows on the sides (front, back, driver, passenger) but left the rear and back corners last night. that glue is hard to take off.

well i pull out of the garage this morning, look over my shoulder as im backing out. the sun hits me straight in the face and blinds the hell outta me.

i then proceeded to say... "fucking gay."

lol

That is one of the things I like about tint, it blocks the sun. I didn't get my GTP tinted solely for looks. My car is black with black leather, the tint kept the car about 30 degrees cooler in the summer. Plus when I was driving the sun didn't cook the shit out of me or blind me.

I mean seriously, if you are going to shoot a cop when he pulls you over; window tint is not going to make a difference. Its just some bullshit law so they can make more money. Plus it gives them more reasons to stop cars for whatever reason.

No the tint law is so they can see you. Its for there safety but eh...I love to tint the Talon. But I am going to stay in within the law requrements.
