yeah, i've heard that from like everybody! lol
so wher should I get it? so does it go in the dash, or does it have to go in like a pod?

Re: where should i start with modding?

READDDDDDDD! IF IT'S AN AFTERMARKET GAUGE IT PROBABLY GOES IN AN AFTERMARKET GAUGE POD! Just a thought though I guess.

btw, I'll sell you my autometer gauge for $15. It doesn't read perfect, but that shouldn't matter for you. If its cheap who cares right?!

Re: where should i start with modding?

Generally people mount the boost gauge on the A-pillar, to the left of the steering wheel. As far as bang for your buck goes, I'd do 5 things, in this order: K&N filter/cut stock air can, boost gauge, mbc (15psi), walbro 255hp fuel pump (now mbc@19-20psi), 3" turbo back exhaust.

If you shop around, you should be able to get that done for well under $1k and you'll have a fun DD on your hands. #1 rule is to NOT skimp on ANYTHING, as you will end up paying for it later.

I'd suggest a Walbro 190 fuel pump, that way you won't over-run the stock FPR.

If your clutch starts slippin, you might want to change it to an aftermarket one that can support your power. There's various brands out there that do the job with many different opinions from everyone on this site.

Re: where should i start with modding?

Well, my dad has told me that I am going to need a new clutch soon, but it's not too bad right now, I guess I will have to wait until it gets worse!
I already do have the K&N filter in it, I have an Apex-i N1 exhaust(not sure if it's 2.5" or 3" previous owner put it on), by the way, can you get pillars that you can have like only a single pod and eventually add another pod to it?

They make single pods that you can screw into your stock a-pillar trim piece. Also make a 2-pod piece that does the same thing. I would invest in an Oil pressure gauge, boost gauge and get a pillar piece with the 2 gauge pods from Lo-Tek. I have a 3-pod pillar replacement piece and it fits perfect and looks stock. Check out their website to see if they have an application for the 1g's. I think they do.

Their website is http://www.gaugepods.com

Does that black actually look good/match? Cause it looks like it's too light, maybe it isn't I don't know! I will keep looking, but I will keep those in mind! Thank you by the way!

That website has just about the best gauge pods you're going to find, they match the interior colors pretty well.

Do you have the Apexi downpipe to go with that catback?

Re: where should i start with modding?

Is $30 a good price for a 2 pod?

And yes, I do believe so, the exhaust was in it when i bought it, so im not completely sure! I plan to stop by the shop tomarrow to check up on it, and I will check it out while up on the lift, I plan to take a pic too!

$30 is about the best price you're going to find I believe.

There's a link to it off of vfaq but just in case you didn't see it... check this site out too.

It's a really good beginner site with a lot of general asked questions.

Ugh. sorry! I guess the question I was trying to ask there was, can I find one cheaper but just like it on ebay or something?

I do have the money, but I would rather pay less money for the same thing if possible, that's why I'm asking!

#2 Rule is do not buy anything car-related on ebay (unless you know what you're getting).

try a period at the end of a sentence. Come up with a budget and were you want the car to be down the road, then talk with a shop to see how fast you can go/how much power you can make with that amount of money.
