Re: Tattoo thread...

I would love to get a tattoo, but also can not decide on what I would want on my body for the rest of my life. The area's I would want one would also be quite painful from what I've heard, so that doesn't help either.

I also watch Miami Ink, it's an awesome show and is kind of inspiring to see the work that they do. :)

What area would you be interested in getting inked up? I know it hurt like a bitch when he was high up on my spine because it was so close to bone, after he did some work there and moved on to a fleshier part I could hardly feel the needle because it hurt so much less.

I would like either something around my foot/ankle area (easily covered for work) or my lower back (but you see so many of these now it's kind of overrated).

Anything close to bone is obviously going to hurt, but as Kemmy said, farther out from the bone where its meatier, you can barely feel it. I would say that part is more irritating then painful because you feel the machine vibrating. But when I got mine after a few minutes of tattooing, the whole area kind of just went numb. After you are done, your favorite thing will end up being lotion, because you CANNOT itch it but it gets pretty itchy when it scabs. So instead you put lotion on it over and over haha.

Yeah, that goes away after about the first 2 hours. If you get anything big you don't realize how good the endorphine rush was until it is gone.

Yeah, you gotta slap it instead of scratching. My roommates thought I was a retard walking around my apartment trying to slap my back.

Mine stayed numb. Granted I got drunk after I got mine, but still! It was numb into the next day and then it just started to itch.

LOL... yep, I did some slapping as well, but the lotion was the BEST.

I've got a modified zodiac sign on my shoulder (capricorn) and the words VICE and VIRTUE intertwined down my entire left side of my torso - armpit to waist. It's in old english text and VICE is shaded black, VIRTUE is left outlined.

I don't have a pic of that one, but here's a pic of my first one:

Tattoos are ugly. For me to get one it would have to really mean something, and even then they are still ugly.

I find it interesting how huge the differences are with people who like/get tattoos, and those who don't. The words "I think" would do wonders here in your quote ;)

I think half of the tattoos in northeast Iowa were done by these folks so they must be decent:

My mom got both of her tattoos there and would go back if she ever got another.
