That just dumb that someone thinks they can keep your stuff. What is his excuse? Have any receipts for the stuff? Then you could just show up with the cops and take it.

A friend of mine had to have the cops help get their stuff from a former friend a few months. I was surprised the cop would step in and help like that. They mostly just over see that you get what is yours and keep the peace.
