unless you mean that you know you need to bring it to a real shop.. I'd worry about you. My guess is that you couldn't tell the difference between the gears once you open up the tranny :( If you get into the inside of the tranny, it's a big cluster fuck with big / little gears all over the place. In reality, it's not complicated. However if you are untrained, you will just see a bunch of gears and have no idea what to do. Putting a wave washer or thrust bearing on backwards can completely screw up everything.

I do have it done, I'm waiting for my silicone to dry as we speak one hour from now i will tighten the cover, add fluid and see if it works i found some wrecked stuff in there i'm gona see if i can show you guys, i will take pictures!

Tim, why are you still on dsmstyle? you dont have a dsm anymore, or do you plan on getting another?

Theres a bunch of people on here without DSM's I think. You don't get kicked out if you sell your DSM and don't get another Mitsu product. Hell I don't own a DSM anymore and don't know the greatest amount about them, so now i just come on here to bug people like you.....haha

Well, two attempts at puting in the 5th gear assembly in and it didnt work i need some help, i thought i put the assembly in right but i obvisoly put somthing in wrong, goes into 5th and reverse now yeah, but nothing is there you can just swing the shifter back and forth its not ingauging anything does anybody have pictures or can sombody tell me how the assembly goes togethor, need some help bad so please if you could just post here or pm me.:(

Do you have the detent balls in the shifter rails?
Did you assemble the trans in neutral?

The first try i had the car in first gear and it was all messed up the second time i put it in neutral, i didnt take the balls out. Do you think theres somthing wrong with the detent not moving anything.

If the balls aren't in the rails the car will not beable to get gears.

You need to do a search for the Mitsu transmission repair manual. I think it's on one of the Gallant boards.

Well, looks like i'm taking the transmission out sunday and shipping it back to mitsubishi graveyard in new york. Hes fixing it for free and paying for shipping so that takes care of it, i did all i could do with the transmission being still in the car.

p.s. dont buy transmission from mitsubishigraveyard.com

How much did this tranny cost you? Shep ones are the best way to go...

These trannies are one of the weak links on all DSM's. The last place I would buy a tranny from is a mitsu dealer or anything of any kind. Shep or TRE is the way to go. Even for just a stock replacement *stage1*
