Re: Anybody want to help with tuning?
Why bother risking your pride and joy? Granted, most of us with DSMs have other cars to drive, but for a lot of you younger guys this is your only form of transportation. I would never even think of putting my countless dollars and hours of work to waste by street tuning, and I would hope you feel the same way about your car.
Do it right, or don't do it at all and go buy a Honda instead. |

You need a dyno or a closed environment where you can moniter the engine properly and gains/losses associated with making changes. Good luck trying to do that on the highway when you are also worried about loosing your license (remember boys and girls 100+mph and they can and probably will yank your license). Track or dyno, only 2 places to tune. |

But for me the cons still outweigh the pros to get a dyno tune after every mod i get. |
Re: Anybody want to help with tuning?
I thought they just past the Law or amendment. You automaticly go to jail and get your license suspended for getting caught over 100.

In my opinion tuning is one of the best mods you could do. |
Re: Anybody want to help with tuning?
well i feel that i'm near the end of buying my mods, all i need is cams and maybe headwork with an intake manifold. But i will buy some non-performance mods as well ex: clutch, rebuilt tranny, coilovers. After i buy the performance mods i will get a legit dyno tune and not touch it.

Re: Anybody want to help with tuning?
I'm starting to understand now. Another question....I heard that the you shouldn't use the knock warning meter on the safcll or a logger because it is not accurate or something....Is this true? Or can I depend on them? Also, what other warning meters does the safcll and the logger have that I should be using?

Re: Anybody want to help with tuning?
Correct, dont worry if you have a knock reading on the safc. I was getting some high knock number during regular driving at 55mph, on a stock car.
take your car + SAFC to LSE/MAP/DB |
