It's that time of year again! Didn't buy one last year, but looking to maybe get one again! If anyone knows a relative or anyone that is selling anything from say a 17-21 ft bow rider speed boat, let me know!

Ha, thanks man!

But I'm more or less looking for something under 10k, with 10k being the absolute max that I really don't want to spend, but would if it was just the best deal ever. Sucks because this is probably the WORST time of the year to buy a boat, because I'm sure they are at their peak value around now.

B-flippin', my dad has one he's selling, I think it's a 19' Larson with the 4.3 and around $10K, really nice. I'll check with him today.

I don't have a boat but I do have a 2000 Polaris 785 pro jet ski. It comes stock with tripple pipes, 140 HP and a 0-60 in 5 seconds.

We have a couple new Sea-Doo RXPs that we ride down here in Red Wing on the Mississippi River all the time. My girlfriends brother and I go wakeboarding about 4 times a week when weather permits. Jet Skis are way more multifacited than people give them credit for. Most of the newer largers ones can pull water skiers and what have you.

Sure if you are just going to use them to whip circles on a lake then it would get boring.

I would get a Jet Boat if I had al little more cash and something to tow it around with. The Jet Skis are small and easy to put in and out.

Ya we are looking at something that we can cram maybe 8 people on if needed, but more for just like 4-5 of us to tow each other around on tubes in, and have a cooler full of beer. Jet boats don't seem to have quite as much room for people. so just a standard I/O motor and an open bow is what we're looking at.

Pontoon.

Re: Who's got boats?!

Pontoons suck for anything but hauling around a lot of people. Last year up north I was driving a pontoon and my buddy had his X-Star wakeboard boat. Guess who everybody wanted to ride with. Pontoons suck.

Re: Who's got boats?!

Brandon what are you looking to spend (top dollar)? I have seen about 15 boats for sale down here in Red Wing this year that are mostly all still for sale. Everybody is selling their boats because of gas prices which I understand because I can burn up 60 bucks worth of gas on a Jet-Ski in about 4 hours, those big boats are every worse.

However if you got a decent open bow with a Honda 50hp outboard you could go for days on 5 gallons of gas. There are other options, but if you want any kind of speed with a boat its going to be expensive.

I will be living about 30 miles to the east of Red Wing in about 2 weeks. I hear the river is a good time and I plan on bringing my boat down there quite often. But yes, gas prices are horrible with most boats. My 90hp Johnson on an open 17ft Sylvan can suck down a 35 gal tank in a day no problem if you are pulling tubers and skiers(sp?).

Mitsustyle boat outing??

Re: Who's got boats?!

Well, after talking with everyone, it sounds like the other guys who want to go in, want to wait maybe until this winter when boats are cheap, so we have one for next summer. But we are looking to spend at a max, 10k probably. And 10k would have to be the perfect boat, otherwise we're looking more around 8k.
