I actually may be able to meet some of you guys for a change. I met Dane at the 2003 Cookout but noone other than that. Ill probably be able to make it, but not positive yet.

The idea has been brought forth to split up the pot if we have enough players. What would you guys think. Should it be split 80/20 with the last two players? Or maybe 70/20/10 between the last three? Or 65/25/10? Or just leave it the way it is.

Also, what should the linit for that be? 5 people? 6 people? so forth.....

Looking for input. This is, after all, a democracy.

I like the 80/20 split.

Me and my friends play tourneys twice a week, we usually play 3rd get their buy-in back, 2nd get double their buy-in back, and 1st takes the rest.Just a suggestion but it works out pretty good.

More than 18 people split. Otherwise winner take all.

I agree with Allan. If we can get alot of people then do a 70/20/10 split, if not winner should take all.

That's kinda where i was leaning. How about we say if we get more than 8 people we will split the pot 70/20/10. Otherwise it's winner take all. Does that sound good?

Nash 01-12-2004 10:47 PM

You are the one hosting so I will just leave it up to you.

AJ 01-12-2004 10:50 PM

If' it's just 8 people it's pointless to split. The're nothing to really win. If we get like 18 people then a split woudl be cool.

MATCHBX 01-12-2004 11:34 PM

That's why I said more than 8. That's $180 split 126/36/18. So the third place person would be getting just about their entire entry fee back. We could up it to ten people. That would be 140/40/20. You know, for simplicity reasons, why don't we go ten people or more and we will split. $140 is still a decent reward for 1st place. Almost enough for a Type S blowoff valve!!!

How many confirmed players do you have as of now? And what sort of table layout are you going to have? Obviously multiple tables if there are a lot of people.

MATCHBX 01-13-2004 07:05 PM

I think we'll do it like Andy suggested it in the other thread. If we have too many for one table, we'll split to two. Draw cards to see who plays on what table. Then, since we're going to have some smokers in the bunch, we will be taking timely breaks where we redraw for table seats. Whether the breaks will be every hour, sooner than that or later then that will be decided on friday nite.

We have about six right now.

I was really hoping I could make it, but I have to work Sunday morning in Winona, and don't think it'd be a good idea to drive home tired. Maybe next time!

MATCHBX 01-14-2004 06:58 AM

The tournament is on Friday nite rather than saturday nite. I made a mistake when i typed the subject line. If you need more info or directions, check out the other thread in the general events forum. It has up to the minute details.

I can't wait!!! Only 2 more days!!!
