Miranda, sign up for your own account! We don't bite. :)

4 days and smoke free. It's getting better. I got to buy some more tools today, eat more, and drink alot. I am edgy at times and tend to get lippy or just move around alot. It's perfect for working on cars, even though I don't, it would be perfect. Keeping hands busy.

How long where you smoking Miranda?

Then how do you expect to stop smoking? ;)

Jakey 01-06-2004 11:45 AM

Allan, I think you can do it this time. Beebe is going on a month without a cigarette and if he can do it, I definitely think you can.

Jana 01-06-2004 12:25 PM

He's doing really good, and I'm so proud of him for trying. It's going on day 5 and suprisingly I haven't had to deal with much of a temper yet. :D

BuildADSM 01-06-2004 04:43 PM

Keep up the good work! You have no idea the respect I have for people who try to quit. Also I don't know if this will help you or not but I have heard from friends that are trying to quit that chewing on a toothpick helps alot because so much of smokeing is a physicalogical (sp?) thing. He said that it helped him alot.

Also does the patch or gum not help? Just wondering.

JiN 01-06-2004 05:53 PM

The gum tastes horrible! Believe me... try chewing on a chalky menthol cig. YUCK! The patch only slows down the quitting process. Smoking is really hard to quit especially if you don't want to. I don't want to quit because I love the way it feels in the morning and when you're out drinking. I only want to quit because Rickey would prefer me to and it's not something I want my kids to see me do. So It's going to be really tough. I know some people have used the Eclipse cigs. and I heard it has some good out comes but it still is only just slowing the process of quitting.

Just think how much better you will feel Miranda once you have been smoke free for 2 weeks. I have heard it's amazing the difference after just a short period of time.

I congratulate you for doing this not only for Rickey, but for yourself!! :D

AJ 01-06-2004 06:42 PM

I would love to sit in a small room with no ventalation and hot box for about an hour!!!!!!!!!

MATCHBX 01-06-2004 07:05 PM

Man, this quitting smoking is really good for you Allan. I've hardly seen any typo's in your replies. Maybe quitting smoking has more than just health benefits.

Quit smoking=get better grammer and spelling. ;)

Good on you Allan. Stick with it. It is well worth it in the long run.

AJ 01-06-2004 07:16 PM

It just takes me an hour to type on sentence like this. Fuck the world right about now, withdrawl are here and eating doesn't help!

In other words don't piss me off. :smoker:

Jakey 01-06-2004 09:36 PM

I think that Stuart's suggestion of toothpicks may be something you would want to try. The owner of the music store I work at smoked for many, many years but quit about 10 years ago. Since the day he quit he has been chewing on toothpicks like they're going out of style but he has been smokefree. I believe that he does smoke cigars once in a while though.
