Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Just do the regular ground, you can wait a couple extra days. :)
Congrats on getting things worked out! very excite. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
We've all been waiting for 5 years for this build to finish. We can wait a couple more days. :)
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Good to hear they are going to take care of you! Be patient, and use this time to clean up anything else that could be improved on! Don't start rushing things now, you're so close!!
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Glad to hear its getting taken care of man.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
if you are sending it all apart
put it all in a usps flat rate box for under 15.00 for 2 day |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
I say do the cheap shipping, save the money for another tune/ other stuff you may need.
Billet would be teh secks. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
get it done done done done done done done. then i want a ride, but please dont kill me. kthx
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
I did ship it cheaply, and upset about the wait. ARG! I just installed a starter on a buddie's 2g (MAP's old shop car) and I miss boost. I'm impatient, only because I think I've waited long enough. It's about time shit starts going right for me, and I hope this guy gets it turned around asap, and DB can get me on the rollers stat.
There's also a possibility a friend might end up painting the car while it's down..not sure yet. Let's hope. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
^Remember I have a paint guy if you got the $$$. obviously not full price $$ lol.
Good luck man, this is probably the only thing that really has come out of nowhere to bite you. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Turbo should be shipping back today, so I'll have it by end of week, so he says. Scheduled retune: 7th.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
good deal man. Heres hoping for a good 360 bearing'd turbo. :)
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
He said he's fixing it today to get shipped out tomorrow, but still assures me I'd get it by end of week..Im thinking he's full of mexican shit.
I DID find out that the nickname of this turbo is "Y2K". I guess it's a popular combo for florida and east coast guys..it's a p-trim exhaust turbine, .70 ar divided t4 housing, PTE CHRA but with the 70.3mm gt4294 comp wheel, cover, backing plate and etc. Hopefully, it's fixed this time. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Weak sauce on that turbo. A billet 67mm would probably destroy that combo as far as spool and power. The p-trim exhaust wheel becomes a restriction even with a normal old 67mm comp side. An old 67mm is usually the biggest comp side people normally run with a p-trim.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Well, it's too late this year for me to change it. We shall see if I am pleased or not with what it does, and go from there over winter yet again. Still free for the 7th Shane?
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Maybe a consultation with shane or other people that know about turbos before reading internet shit and getting crappy whore turbos next time?
Good luck on the 7th I'm sure I will be still unemployed so give me a shout. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
well, rhe research I did showed decent results, and I got it for a good price, plus I wasn't too keen on doing what everyone else does. Sometimes I like to take the less traveled path, even if I find out it was wrong.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
lol

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
I dunno what path that's cool you speak of brownie, but I can assure you, no car will ever make me cool. I'm still the most hated asshole on this site, and I dont forsee that ever changing.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
^Say goodbye to DSMs and get something else then you might be on the right track. lol
Either way optimum setup or not, your shit will make good power and be fun. I know I'm hoping you get it done soon. |

I wonder if ESPN would sponsor me?
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Sell it and try out a Borg. The borg assimilates all. Resistance is futile...
And whatever, damn the haters. I hope for the best, and am just excited to see some badass numbers, and see this thing cruising around the streets. |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Ouch, tough love from shane! Still, I wanna see what this thing will do. Keep at it man!
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
The thing revs past 7800rpms no problem, that's a huge step forward on it's own.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
^That's the fucking truth! I called and made a few assessments. Shane, as long as it's still making power, let's take it to 9500.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
I agree with Halon with switching over to a Borg. As soon as I put my 2.4 back together its getting a Borg Warner S372, screw this garret crap.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
next year, it might be a different story all together. I'll see what I can do, and research in the off season. For now, it's get it together, and enjoy it before summer ends.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Billet 71mm, Billet 76mm :)
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
as you said, billet 71mm won't do much over the 6765. And, 76..too big I think..
