Sucks about the hub, at least it was an easier fix for the fronts. The wheels look good on the car, tho.

And, on a plus, no cars were hit or damaged today.

No problem. They actually weren't as bad as I expected.

For lugs, you should ask MattD where he got his set last week.

Discount Tire has some decent ones I believe.

Mark, that looks like a PITA!

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

the fronts are on the car now. had to mod the brackets alittle bit and make 1/4" spacers the 1/2" ones were to much and made them sit funny and hit the rotor's.

also put one of the rims on the car to get a good look at the full new set up. It looks bad ass

Looks good, I hope from a distance it doesnt look like those are rubber band tires, since you had to get such small tires. I think you should have gone with 17s max because 18s on such a small car may look odd.

I would have but I have 425.00 into the rims and tires so I could not pass it up. also craigs mini does not look bad with 18's and the same tires on it.
Also a 40 would rub on the inner fenders and throw off the speedo

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

dad and I got the rears all done today. the car is on the ground. just have to blead the brakes some more they are still soft and get the ebrake to work better.
here is the first set of brackets. redid them a 2nd time with a smaller spacers. used just a washer on the 2nd run of them.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04700.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04701.jpg

also a 18*8 will fit on the rear of a evo I-III arm with 1/8 or so of space
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04702.jpg

we had to cut the a set of bearing centers for a spacer for the hubs. with out them the hub hit the ebrake.

the evo I-III arm with the 2nd bracket set up and the evo 9 ebrake set up
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...o/DSC04704.jpg
put all together with the evo 9 rear disk and brembo

I those those calipers were from an evo 8?

TkrPerformance 09-12-2008 09:54 PM

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

they are evo 9 but they are all the same from evo 5-9

TkrPerformance 09-13-2008 07:02 PM

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

dad, kevin, and I got them all blead out and got the ebrake fixed so it works really well. The evo 9 cables were longer than the evo 3 ones. I still dont like the brake peddle so I am going to pick up a evo 8 master and swap that in. also will pick up a set of rear s.s. lines for it.

That shit looks good as hell even without a paint job on the car, i think its a good thing, because if that car had a paint job 99% of viewers would instant nut.

they are the 215/35/18 that I got from a buddy for 125.00 with 200 miles on them.

the car stops like crap right now it is no better than it was before. I have a evo 8 booster and master on the way to fix that problem. The evo III master does not push enuff brake fluid to make the brakes work the way I want them to right now.

just picked up a evo 8 ecu off evom from a vender for 110.00 shipped

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

Looks good but I think the wheels are too big. It makes the calipers and rotors look small. Those tires look thin also. I'd go with 16's if I were you.

I am guessing the wheel size was choosen to be able to fit the new brakes in so he can't go much smaller.

I'm pretty sure 16's can fit. My Brembo's, although they are not the Evo's calipers, can fit 16's. 16's makes your brakes(caliper/rotors) huge!

311evo 09-19-2008 01:55 AM

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

16's would not fit over evo brembos, hense them comming stock with 17's with very little clearance.
