That is awesome Jon's flying in!

Adam at MAP hit me up and said he was flying in to tune a shit load of cars on that Thursday and had free time on that Friday.

So I am trying to arrange to get my car there for that Friday to actually do a full dyno tune and finish my current setup!

Should be a good day if all the details work out and then I can see what the car actually makes on a real dyno again as I haven't been on one for quite some time.

Do it!! I'm planning to be there for when he tunes the GTR's :)

Woot! I agree and Jon seems like a helluva tuner. Adam said he was his first choice to come tune but didnt think he'd be able to get him out here. So props to Adam for getting that done and to Jon for willing to come up here! :woohoo1:

Amazing what a few bucks and a free trip can do to help convince someone ;)

I was border line on flying him out here but its just too much money to justify it. But hey, i will gladly piggy back on others expenses haha.

Yeah as far as I know, hes supposed to be here for 2 days so thats a pretty big window for 2 cars. So maybe theres more cars to tune.

Well, the evo made it to work today, was a little sketchy on summer tires and the -3 temps didn't help but I am here and dropping it off tonight at MAP so they can start on it tomorrow AM.

The car drove well for the most part, the only issue was my company's parking lot, was a skating rink and I couldn't even turn to park, had to go really slow. Also, hit boost cut trying to lay into the car a bit, I think, was crazy with how cold it was haha. In the warm weather i was sometimes spiking to 33-35ish psi, so guessing I was closer to 40 for a boost cut event. Anyway, car feels good, going to get some fresh e85 in there and get to MAP and I will update more tomorrow.

Dyno graph :) The car was hitting full spool at 2200 or so but the motor couldn't ingest everything so we had to slow it down. This car is a riot now though!

Sorry, this is a cell pic sent through facebook as I forgot to get final numbers there on my phone and Adam is going to send me a good graph on Monday.

For now this will have to do.

Dude...I bet that is wild! Definitely enjoy this thing for at least a few months while you figure out what the next step is. I'd think something like the EF3 or 18K would be perfect...just large enough so you don't have to artificially slow the spool, but still have a wicked top-end.

18K's are impossible to get a hold of as they are constantly backordered.

If anything I will go the ATP GTX3576r...or just keep it stock, I am enjoying it now a lot. However, I am thinking the stock turbo won't last forever on this much jam haha.

Also, I might finally be getting rid of the car haha. In which case I would be looking to move to a c6z most likely, something in the 40-45k range. I need to think on this as the longer I wait the less I will get for my car so if I am going to get out, now is the time.

My guess is you'll be surprised at how long the stock turbo lasts, they seem to take a lot more abuse than aftermarket turbos before failing.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

^I don't really expect it to just grenade, I am only pushing 31psi which isn't too terribly high but I am sure it will have a few years shaved off its life because of it haha.

Better graph that can be read.

Adam pulled the SAE graph instead of STD like before, so different numbers, but whateves.

I love how fat the torque curve is, and how flat the horsepower curve is!
