I cut an 8" hole in one of my walls for a kitchen vent hood this weekend. Sucked with the stucco.

I'll just stop tanning and become super white. I then will be able to walk around naked in the garage and the bright blinding white light will make it impossible for them to see me.

Re: House Projects

Bmans garage turned out nice with teh lights, its looks like a body shop.

The shelves are a nice height for commonly used items as you can just reach up and get stuff and if it's heavy use a step stool. However they are about 6ft/plenty of head room.

Re: House Projects

Anyone have any good winter house projects? Since my garage is nearly done, I have started to other project while its cold out. I am going to start my media room/ dedicated theater sometime this month. I recently swapped out all my outside lights on my house with the EcoSmart 6" LED recessed fixtures. VERY happy with how it turned out! I wasn't sure how bright they would be so I tested out the 4 recessed lights in the kitchen and then moved to the exterior lights once I was content.

Sorry for the crappy iphone pic.

Looks good. My only other winter mod is I bought a dozen boxes of Xmas lights on uber sale at Target 2 days after Xmas. Excited to hang em next year, lol.

Re: House Projects

Sweet on LED! I got all LED xmas lights last year and got a few more this year too. Not sure how much they save in money but im sure its worth it. Best part is, my energy company gives me back 3 dollars per box of led xmas lights or cfl, money back ftw!

I swapped out most of my bulbs for cfl around the house, and id like to install a couple led cans outside the front entry that would stay on all night.

Re: House Projects

Yeah, LED's are great. For some reason Lowe's has them very cheap. I got a 60w regular bulb replacement (under $10) and put it in the garage door opener. It is full brightness instantly and doesn't get dimmer when cold like the CFL. Love it!

As far as projects I am finishing up our main floor bath in the next week or 2, all of the tile is down. Just have to grout, baseboards and finish the glass tile around the top of the shower, then reinstall fixtures. After that I am going to be wiring up the downstairs and installing a subpanel in the shop. Fun times!

Re: House Projects

My gf and I just got a house in Cottage Grove. Don't have any pics of it yet. It's just a 3 br rambler with a fully finished basement. Could make one of the rooms in the basement a legal bedroom by adding an egress window. For now, it's going to be my man cave.

It has a nice garage, 24' deep by 26' wide, and there's a pit in the floor for doing easy fluid changes. The ceiling is insulated, but the walls are not. That'll probably be the first thing I do in the spring.

Most of the house was renovated before we bought it, so there's not really too much we need to do, other than a little paint.

Re: House Projects

If any of you guys are looking for cheap but beautiful lots, check here: www.tworidges.com/stone.html and http://www.tworidges.com/country.html

These lots are family owned. We built the whole area from farm land. City lots, golf course lots and acreage lots. Prices starting at $8,999 and up of course.

The only downfall is the lots are about 30 mins from Burnsville, which isnt horrible but I know most of you are from the metro, but if you'd like a change of scenery PM me :)

Well after finishing our house in Zimmerman, we listed it for sale and it has finally sold. We also had our offer accepted on a new house in the south east part of Ham Lake. We will be moving at the end of March! More home projects to come for this guy, cant wait.

Dang thats a treck from the cities! Nice to have an acre though and peace and quiet! No trees would be tough for me though, I have to have a wooded lot.

Installed three new toilets seats over the weekend. BAM! Massive bathroom makeover! While at Home Depot I did start pricing out some things to update the bathrooms. I also added some water pipe insulation to my new water heater.

Yea for my wife it would, I just work in white bear so its not to bad. Needs to have landscaping done in the front with grass or turf. Any recommendations for that?

Re: House Projects

New floor is coming along, about halfway done now, did the steps and hallway area first, rest of the living room and kitchen are left. Should be done this week. You can see part of the new slate flooring in the bathroom too, ill post those remodel pics later.

Turned out to be quite a bit more work than I expected, lots of measuring, test fitting etc. Had to lay down 1/4" plywood in the living room to match the height of the kitchen vinyl. Also Craftsman tools ftw!
