Oh I see that now. Your last graph is labeled 30 psi. Guess I didn't actually look at the little red line. lol

Well...was a long night tonight, fucking with the car.

For some odd reason after we cleared fuel trims last night and went to rescale the tune as we were maxing load out, everything poop city.

Car wouldn't stay running at idle.

So today Jon worked on it a bunch and after I finally found a new oring for my MAP sensor, the car started to run again...looks like my oring was leaking. (replace your oring if you have the omni 4 bar).

Now the car is successfully running full SD and its pretty smooth. The WOT stuff is all goofed up now because we redid so much...but we are close with driveability stuff. Hopefully we can get back to WOT here this week yet.

More to come...

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Tonight we got some more tuning/logging in. It was kind of terrifying, my new SSP catch can while we were idling in the garage starting smoking a bit, think its just hot oil vapor from the breather but it was a lot. Maybe time to empty the catch can already.

Didn't get too far tonight, idle is slightly better and the car drives/cruises pretty good. Idle gets some pretty good swings right now, but besides that and neutral coasting/braking the car runs good...during idle still get some "surge".

Starting to get hard to explain to Jon what the hell is going on with the car. He has logs and watches live via VPN but without knowing what the car is doing its tough to explain. Getting burnt out on the car now ugh.

Just want it to work...thinking about taking it to shane/ron just to see if they can give some pointers, just talk with them and pay them for a 1/2 hour or something for advice lol.

I dunno, I miss doing WOT, so much easier and less tedious. 2150's are gay lol.

Shouldn't matter for idle with SD but have you done a boost leak test?

Nope, no boost leak test done yet. Just found a leak on my MAP sensor 2 days ago that appears to have helped quite a bit.

Hey, you know what you should do before tuning a car to make sure everything is setup properly and your tune won't change later once you fix boost leaks?

Well unless your fetching your map signal immediately after the turbo, how would boost leaks on Speed Density affect idle?

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Well, the evo world isn't ending, I was in a bad mood before, much better mood tonight!

Good progress tonight for sure!

Idle/cruise are working again! YAY! With the map/rom scaled to handle 750whp or whatever haha. We were maxing load and after we scaled it, shit hit the fan.

Basically had it running solid on SD...then put MAF back in, now the car purrs with both. SD was nice but still left something to be desired on certain conditions, maybe it can be perfect with more work but with remote tuning its impossible to explain some stuff. Now with the MAF doing work again the car idles/drives as good as I expected it could and then some.

Trims are almost fully dialed in and we are moving on to partial boost stuff. Still something up with fuel system it looks like, apparently he has to add more fuel to this than anything he has ever seen, no idea what is wrong but might be troubleshooting the fuel system soon.

progress...

I was hoping to not use MAF, but the transitional areas between boost and shifting and some of idle just were tough to get right with only MAP. Once MAF came back it stopped the big swings and it just worked well.

Maybe there is a reason mitsu used both ;) They MAF/MAP calculations are all lined up now and its pretty smooth. Still not perfect but pretty dang for for a 700whp as you said haha.

Well the car is ripping now :)

Still fine tuning the car, I have another graph after this one but it doesn't make sense. The fuel down low is cleaned up on the newer maps and we are upping boost up top a bit for a flat 32psi. But here is where we are at now, time to clean it up and enjoy it.

Ps, we did break 800whp one time...but I won't talk about that lol.

Here was the last log I took, which seemed strange, not sure what happened, but AFR is getting close to dialed in now.

Going to try and get a few runs to get some consistency tomorrow or maybe later this week. I am satisfied for now, the car rips!

Only 32 psi. Crank that bitch up. Glad to see you got this almost dialed in and your not having any major problems. Hopefully this summer the car will be good to you. Once you get beast all dialed in what are the next mods your planning. PS crank boost up to race liter bike

IDC is at 72% right now so we will see how much further fuel will go. I am guessing we are getting close to the point where more boost will raise IDC and fuel will stop adding...

We are going to flatten boost out to 32psi first, then maybe i will go 34psi. I don't want much more than that for now. When i go surge tank and BAP I will try something near 40psi...but not any time soon.

Liter bikes, I don't think I am fast enough for those..i don't think anyway.
