Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
I got the new master cylinder today and installed it, then bled the clutch/slave and adjusted the clutch. I WORKS! it no longer ingages at the floor! it does however slightly move when the clutch is in and I rev it up but not bad at all.
On a side note I took it for a drive and the steering wheel shakes and when I turn right I hear a grinding noise.... This is just depressing |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Your wheels might need to be balanced if the steering wheel shakes.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
^ yes I thought this but I'm not too sure as to what the grinding noise is..

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
After I got my clutch adjusted I reved it up to see if it would drag and my 2 step went off, after this my car only idles at 2200 rpm's... I am going to get the by pass plate ordered tomorrow and put my idle sensor back on.. you guys win

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Nice. So up and running this weekend?
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
lol. sounds like it will be ready to rock real soon.
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
It drives but I need those parts and such I wouldn't be ready to womp on it anytime real soon I just feel so far away from that at the moment...

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
You have about an hour or 2 left of work. Get it done and get it tuned before next weekend

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Well I'm back to being stumped on my clutch... It is engaging close to the floor but not all the way.. I adjusted he clutch the way you are suppose to do it and I'm getting this.. I am going to bleed the clutch/slave 1 more time and if this doesn't correct the problem idk what else to do.. I really don't want to have to pull my tranny but if I have to then I guess I have to. Also, I checked the clutch fork and it looks good but not only that when the clutch is to the floor the fork is all the way to the passenger side which makes me think that I'm in good shape with that. Any thoughts would be great.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
What method did you take to bleed it? Did you bleed all new fluid from the reservoir to the slave completely?
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Just to make sure you have the right info...
Shimming Pivot Ball http://www.teamrip.com/when_why_and_...ball_info.html Pedal Adjustment http://www.teamrip.com/clutch_pedal_...ment_info.html Bleeding Clutch (make sure you do steps 11 and up) http://www.teamrip.com/how_to_proper...utch_info.html I don't know if you're running a 1g or 2g trans but maybe try installing the 2g restrictor if you're using a 1g trans. IF all those fail you can try running an Isuzu slave. It requires a little trimming but makes the pedal lighter and engagement longer. |
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Yes I did this. BUT when I was trying to bleed the slave and was holding it in, when they pushed on the clutch slowly it pushed the slave out so I'm hoping that the slave just needs to be bled some more.. Also, I am going to re re readjust my clutch peddle and see what happens. Also, the like I said before my clutch fork makes full movement towards the passenger side and couldn't move any farther.
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
So it's making contact with the trans case?
|
Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Not quite that far. That's too much.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
well I ordered some new tb shaft seals just to find out that the 1g n/a throttle body has different seals in it... Turbo ones are 14mm x 10mm x 3mm and the n/a's are 14mm x 10mm x 2mm..... So I read about this and people are taking the tb's to a machine shop and having them bore the recess 1mm deeper and sticking the turbo one's in. I think that this is what I am going to do. Others are just going to a parts store and getting the correct size and using just regular O rings in them.
