Re: My Talon

I just thought I'd make this power at a lower boost level, and that spool would be better.

Anyone have any thoughts? BAD boost leak?

Re: My Talon

You didn't boost leak check you're car before the dyno/tune??

Re: My Talon

I'd check for boost leaks for sure. But you're also on a mitsu exh side right?

Re: My Talon

Looks like the boost falls off up top a little on that run, maybe thats why you didn't make more horse powa y0. haha

Still some damn good numbers and has got to be a fun car!

Yes, I did.

Ha, there was kinda a boost leak at what appeared/sounded like the turbo itself. I checked with soapy water, etc. I gave up and called it good.

If it was a bad boost leak, wouldn't we have noticed something on the dyno?

Pretty sure the difference between our setups was turbo choice, and you have a SMIM.

But at like a few pounds less boost, you made more power and torque, and spooled faster.

What gives? Holset ftl?

Re: My Talon

I'd say more along the lines of FP and ball bearing FTW.
Still nothing to complain about. I'm on a 2.3 stroker and it took 27psi to make almost exactly those numbers. That isn't bad power for a 2.0 on 27psi, congrats.

Re: My Talon

I'm happy with the car, it made the numbers I've always wanted, it's fun to drive, what more could I really want. I am content.

So when are you gonna get us a real dyno graph or some logs?

^Good question.

Re: My Talon

Kevins car pulls really good, we ran a few times tonight with me at 22psi(I think I have a bad boost leak) I would pull on him till 4th and then he would pull on me.. He kept telling me to shift faster and I kept saying I dont have a shep tranny. It was a very good time.

Re: My Talon

lol. Nice. But at 22psi I thought you said you were only making 350whp.

I think closer to 380-400 range, but alot more torque than kevin has.

If you had under 400tq when you were making 450hp, you'd have less tq if you're making less power. So your torque was probably a lot closer to mine then.

Re: My Talon

I had the best race of my life last weekend.

The organic disk isn't up to par, so a new ACT 6 puck ceramic sprung disk is going in.

New plugs and fuel filter on Sat, Rockfalls on Sunday.

I just got tie rod ends and ball joints, waiting on wheel bearings. Doing all that the following weekend.

The maybe a forsale sign? :p
