His car is going to the track, with or without him. :)

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Shane is right. And yea, I want to run a filter, perferrably an intake. I like kevin's design on his, and brandon's, and since the area near the pass front headlight area is all empty, it will fit there. I just gotta get around this upper rad hose..

Get to work already.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Coppersprayed the gasket, slapped the manifold and turbo on for realz now. Modified the oil return, and attached teh 45 deg. fitting to the 5 foot piece of -12 brent gave me. I will wait till I finish the oil pan end, once I know for sure the way it's routed now is the way it will be, since I want the lower ic pipe, wg, and exhaust done first. Now, just playing the waiting game.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

That sounds like a good idea. Surely but slowly it seems, you get an appt. with JDM john to get the pipes done?

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Needs a v-band flange that I believe was warped. Once he gets that its on like donkey kong.

Swifty1638 04-25-2010 01:49 PM

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Updates..hm..Well, JDM John came over to mock up all the piping for the lower ic, wg, and exhaust. Clear packing tape, and some marker marks, and all was good to weld, then we drove back to his place up in MG, so I could drool over his galant, and watch all the welding go down. I also mounted my oil cooler, finished the timing cover side/motor mount, cut a bit of the hood "skeleton" brace out so it could clear the turbo (don't worry, no holes in the hood, so when it's shut you'll never know the difference) and then was trying to rush to get it done at 6:04 am the other morning for the boost event at MAP, but something went wrong, and warped, and I snapped a clamp. Fail. Either way, I'm working on getting it resolved so I can hear this stupid thing run again..

Bored:

Mad JDM angle cut yo!

Definatly 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag. More shit to cram then ever. I also needed to take apart the WG, and "clock" the bottom port housing, so the vaccuum line running to it was outta the way. Soon people, soon..

What you should be asking is "Is that 3" DP going to a side exit exhaust or very short exhaust?"

Swifty1638 04-26-2010 12:06 AM

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Yes it's a 3" pipe, remember, it's the same exhaust housing as was on my 6776 last year-this is NOT an off-the-shelf turbo people. Running anything bigger really isn't needed, especially since what you see in that pic, IS the whole exhaust.

Drove up to John's today to get the warpage fixed, and the clamp I broke "rebuilt" Thanks again to ya John for all the help, and late LATE night the other night. Just as I told others at the Dyno day yesterday, the car WOULD be running today, and as of about 30 mins ago, she's alive, without too much of an issue. :)

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

I was going to make a video, but as of right now, the oil cooler was mounted were the bumper mounted, so now I need to figure out, and make/weld a bracket or something that will tuck it up outta the way.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Join the Maaco Mafia!!!!!

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

I plan on joining the maaco mafia, actually. Or, I got a few people in mind. I REALLY want to paint it this year, but we shall see what funds are allowing for it.

Exhaust most of last year I didn't even get hassled. For now, I'm not running one, as the old exhaust I had wasn't cutting it. Kept hitting the rear diff, and shit, so I gotta sort all that out. For now, open dump pointed at the ground really isn't THAT loud..just don't drive like a jackass and do pulls EVERYWHERE (it's hard not to!) and you'll be ok. :)

We don't need to race I'm talking like map event or at midgay?
