Mark, any idea if there are some sours out there that would be worth trying to trade for in return for something Surly? Darkness or other...? War & Peace or Worthy Adversary? Since I have a couple of each yet...

I've often wondered the same thing. My guess is they're not tapping 16 gallon kegs and going with the smaller ones...which seems to be common for a lot of craft breweries to use anyway.

Yeah i would say the lower volume beers are probably 5 or 8 gallon kegs. And they should stay fresh on tap for a couple months, since they are fed C02 constantly.

But also a place like that probably moves beer at a decent pace. Places I've been around the cities that have a lot on tap keep some of the same ones constantly just new kegs... and the rotating stuff doesn't last long, especially if it is popular.

Some of the best is from TX jester king brewing. If chris would be willing to buy them and ship them up here that would also work and I would be down for some of them also

I've heard of that brewery, but never went looking for their beer. Is it available in the DFW area?

A new movie theater here has pints of Backwoods Bastard for $7 (yes full 16oz pours). That's enough to get a good buzz going at 10% abv. It's ranked 3rd best scotch ale on RateBeer. I'm going back soon for another.

The bartender had no idea it was rare, said only a few people a day order it. They even give out 2oz samples to anyone who wants to try it haha.

Very nice! I have a few bottles stashed away from this year. So delicious.

I know nothing fancy but just took a trip with coworkers to Milwaukee and toured Lakefront and loved their Red. And also learned a heck of a lot from a Great Lakes Distillery tour as well. Also had numerous fun beers at the Gastropub and I highly recommend checking that place out if you're in the area.

Re: Fancy Beer!

cant wait. the coffee part is a bit weird since the beans are eaten by Asian palm civet then collected after they poop them out. People are already selling bottles of it for 100.00 that were able to get them. that is insane for a beer but might have to trade off 2 of them if that is what they will be worth.
