Re: Teh Dizzevo
My Corbeau seats are the same way, how they sit so damn high in the Talon even though thew brackets are almost flush to the floor.

Nice, being able to hear yourself or even carry a convo in the car is important for me and I'm sure you are enjoying it a little bit more.

Re: Teh Dizzevo
Teh Dizzevo got invaded by the brownman today for Auto-x purposes.
car is awesome, a little less awesome now but not thanks to me. I had a blast with this car today, i took it real easy at first since I was getting used to the course and just wanted to absorb all of the advice, last 3 runs was all me. The car did awesome, it felt so solid but not uncomfortable. I have never pushed a car like that and it felt great. I must say there was a few times where I was scared, yes scared that the car was too much, I couldn't look at the gauges until a long slalom where I didn't even hit 7k in second. If you think you have too much power you need to apply some it using turning the wheels style. Thanks again it was awesome experience. |

As for what happened to the car, in the middle of our morning runs people were shouting my name while I was spraying water on the intercooler and tires on the WRX. I look over and a small group of people were around my car on the other side of grid where it was parked for Aaron, made me think it was on fire or something so I drop the sprayer and run over there. Everyone was on the passenger side so I walk around from behind the car and see this. http://a.imageshack.us/img682/1056/i...1008221640.jpg A mother and son who are regular autocrossers were sharing her Mini, and he moved it from his grid spot to hers as they were in different classes. He had just got done running so didn't want to use the e-brake, as he always does, so he turned off the car and put it in gear. Either he didn't get it in gear or it popped out of gear and it slowly rolled down the ever so gentle incline in the parking lot and hit my car. It couldn't have hit any more square in the door than it did. She got in touch with her insurance almost immediately so hopefully it can be taken care of this week or even in 2 weeks while I'm in Lincoln, NE for the SCCA solo nationals. |
Re: Teh Dizzevo
Ouch, that sucks! At least the damage is only done to a single panel though and shouldn't be tough to fix.

Re: Teh Dizzevo
Poor dizzevo! Sorry matt, at least it'll be an easy fix (I hope!).

Re: Teh Dizzevo
And for people who wonder what I mean when I say "WRX"...

Re: Teh Dizzevo
Ouch, sorry to hear about that. At least it's not too bad, you shouldn't need much more than a door. Definitely not the 3 weeks of downtime Hughes and I both had.
|
Re: Teh Dizzevo
Yea sucks Matt, hopefully you get her back good as new :)
Id say a week or two tops for something like this, 3 if the shop is super busy or parts are slow. 3 weeks is kind of standard down time for anything that isn't a day project, lol. |
Re: Teh Dizzevo
Bummer to hear about this matt, but at least it should be a easy enough fix.

Re: Teh Dizzevo
Lamettry's got the door replaced, then decided to replace the fender for whatever reason, maybe the door opening and closing a few times messed it up somehow. Still waiting on the fender to come in. At this rate my car will not be at the dyno day. :( Going on two weeks driving a 2010 Malibu, I've pretty much forgot what my car feels like.

I followed a Lancer OZ on the way in to work this morning, it made me cry a little when I started comparing its body lines to that of the Evo. :(

Re: Teh Dizzevo
Damn sucks. having it gone this much will just make you appreciate it that much more when you get it back!!
|
Re: Teh Dizzevo
Got it back, good as new. Keep in mind I was driving a 2010 Chevy Malibu for 2 weeks. I sat in the Evo and thought, "Wow, this seat really hugs you." Fired it up and thought how awesome it sounded. Began driving and was honestly surprised at how it drove and handled. I forgot that I own a race car.
