Actually stick the GoPros on the things that matter. The fuel pressure gauge and coolant overflow.

Luck is much needed right now lol!

You don't need to hold it!

Lol you have a valid point but I has no go pro. So if someone shows up with one well see.

Lol idk how much he'd like that haha

Re: my new project

Haha apparently I need to invest in more mounting options. Zip tie the go pro to Shanes head? DSM way to mount that shibby!

It's looking like I should be able to swing by, I'll stop by home after work to grab the camera and some food then head up.

Re: my new project

Give him food so he won't go beast mode on your face.

Re: my new project

So tonight didn't go so well. It seemed like we got the kinks all worked out and were finally able to get to some wot tuning and then something happened. Either the timing belt stripped or the bolt for the cop by the cam gears is missing. That might have fallen in the timing cover and locked something up.

Either way the head has to come off and the valves are going to be toast. Hopefully I can get by with just a new set of valves. If the carnage is really bad the car might get parted out. We'll see when I get into it.

Well I'm waiting for a tow truck right now. While I've been waiting I pulled my plugs and took a look with my bore scope it looks like there's no major piston damage. So we'll see what it looks like tomorrow when I pull the head. This is some much welcome good news...

Re: my new project

Good news! Hopefully its an easier fix and you can get it back up and running quickly!

If you want a quick list of mods or anything else at the start let me know!

Hope you don't find too much damage when you rip it apart!

Mods: "All of them."

We'll worry about mods once we get her running and tuned good ;-). Video looks good!

So far it's looking good. The plan if attack is I'm gona slap a T-belt on it and do a leak down test and see what's messed up.

Great video! Bad news about the issues. Fix it and rip it! You're almost there!

LingLing 05-09-2013 08:52 AM

Re: my new project

I'm surprised the sound doesn't become distorted with the camera sitting inside the dyno room. Props to GoPro for that, and props to Brad for the video!

Thanks for letting me know on Shane's wideband. I'll look for your plug today, and let you know when I find it.

If you're working on the car and someone is at my house to let my dog out I can swing by and lend a hand.

That's the plan! Going to put a timing belt on tonight and do a compression test and a leak down test and go from there

I mean if Shane wants to donate it to me I do need a new sensor and this one will work ;-) lol. We will be working on the car tonight so if you want to swing over you can.
I was also surprised by the sound quality from the go pro. Not bad for the little thing.

So the plan is we're going to be working on the car tonight after I get off work. Anyone who wants to join/ hang out is more than welcome to
