oh yea, I have quite a few FFWD parts on this build now!

Right now they have about 5/32 left on the all season Continental's. Those will stay on for the break in/dyno and once they're burned off I'll get something for the street. Once things get serious I plan on getting some M&H Racemaster's for the front.


Brakes, I believe it has 1g big brakes on it right now, so I'll probably just throw some decent pads in there until s1ngletracker finishes his Cobra brake brackets.

Ok, this one has me overthinking a bit.

The stock coolant return pipe won't work for my setup and it's too close to the turbine housing for me to feel comfortable using rubber so I'm going to do a braided line. I plan on doing a banjo to -6AN to replicate the stock piece and loop it behind to the water pipe.

Anyways, I need a fitting that will work with the water pipe flare. So I'm looking for -6AN to M16x1.5, with the M16 end having a flare like the stock piece so it'll seal.
Looking at
THIS part here, hoping it'll work. Thoughts?

TLDR; Need the correct fitting to go into the water pipe and connect to a 6AN on the other end with the correct flare to seal in the water pipe. (I'm pretty sure they are both 37° flares)

Nice pick up. Some day you will get it done. It's been none stop house work over here. No time for any of my projects. Can't wait to see how your car turns out. Should be fun roosting the tires on the highway. Sure miss my old dsms. Well some days.

Well, I got the engine in. Now I wait for more parts. Next I need to put on the flywheel and clutch assembly, but first I need flywheel bolts and the spacer plate for my aluminum flywheel so the bolts don't chew it up. I have a whole list of things I need but I'm not going to write a novel so here it is.

-Axle seals
-A/C delete spacer for axle bracket
-TOB clip
-Axle carrier bolts (to back of block)
-Stake nuts for transmission (still haven't torqued them to spec)
-Pressure plate bolts
-OEM throw out bearing
-Radiator and heater core hoses
-Transmission mounting bolts (because the shell I started with had some hardware store bullshit with wrong length bolts and washers, etc holding the trans on) :nope:


Once I get the trans in, I can run the harness. If everything on the harness reaches and doesn't need any wires lengthened I can start putting the rest of the car together. I do need to re-do the nasty solder job on the 2g maf connector on this harness from the laser partout, other than that it's pretty decent.

The biggest thing that sucks about building a car from basically a bare shell is tracking down all the correct nuts and bolts for everything. It is time consuming and really adds up in the long run cost wise. :violin:

That's easy, Ive got a bucket of nice clean bolts that I have saved at the shop. Come and pick out what you need!

I'm trying to stick to oem hardware where it matters, is it at least random mitsu stuff?

Hyundai, Toyota, and Honda mainly. Most of them has the same thread pitch as Mitsubishi. The only Mitsubishi that we have is a galant and an outlander. The galant is a rusty POS while the outlander was already torn apart before I got there. I try to keep all of the rust-free clean metric bolts. I'm sure you can find quite a few bolts in the pile that will work. If you change your mind, let me know.

Don't forget about www.rockauto.com when it comes to the OEM-replacement stuff like TOB, axle seals, hoses, etc! A quick Google search will always yield a 5% discount code too.

I have OEM flywheel bolts if you want them, maybe you can convince Brandon to pick them up on his way back to MN, he's going to drive right by my house.
