Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Well..... I did a boost leak test and had a MASSIVE BOOST LEAK ( wont hold more then 1lb of pressure.. ) where I believed to be between the SMIM and head so I took all that shit apart and put some black rtv on both sides of my plastic gasket. Well, after putting it all back together I did the leak test again just to find out that it was actually my Injector O-Ring..... So I'm headed up to Primo to get some new ones and try it again.. I'll keep you guys updated.

figure out a way to get that iacv hooked back up! There are more then a hand full of people my self included that have done the same thing that you did and all say it sucks. its not robbing you of any power so get it back on there.

^Negative. On a side note I got my injectors sealed up and ready to go. I have some leakage from the tb seals... When I got it all hooked back up I went to start it and the battery was dead...... Well, I'm going to bring my battery to work tomorrow for charging and then see what happens after I throw it back in.

Is there a positive you see to not putting it in besides not taking a few minutes to get it to go back in? It isnt hurting your power at all so why not have it run better? If you ae using a dsm TB then why not hook it up? I can see if you had a q45 or something.

It clears up space. Those coolent nipples catch on my fuel line and I don't like the clutter

This is a very nice car, youve made amazing progress on it as well. Its very inspiring, and a real motivator to continue the visual aspect of my project instead of just focusing on the performance. Turning and stopping fast is just as fun as straight line speed.

Thank you, its nice to see my car making other people feel good because this car is stress and sometimes I don't think I can motivate myself anymore but somehow I keep truckin.

X2 now put it nack on there and quit being a typical dsm'r. I had mine on and I never once had anyone say anything about it being there and you can barely see it.

I don't care that its there.. If it becomes an issue down the road it wouldnt take much to put it back in.. JEEZ you would think this is your car...

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

I installed the head lights, tail lights, and reverse lights today. Also, put on the exhaust that I dont want to run but need an exhaust on there for the time being, then I took the car for a little ride around the block and the clutch needs adjusting pretty bad, It inguages almost at the floor.... Anyways I'll get some pics up soon and maybe a video? we'll see.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

:angryfire:I'm having clutch engagement issues and have been putsing with it for hours and have no idea what the hell to do... I can rev it up and my car will move with the clutch at the floor.. I watched a jacks video on how to adjust it but no matter what I do it doesn't change. I'm at a loss......

Did you torque the pressure plate properly? which clutch is it? standard single discs will drag at somewhere above 7k rpm usually no matter what, is that what you're experiencing?

GsXtUrBo98 06-05-2011 09:04 PM

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

Its a ACT2900 and it was all torqued to spec, its engageing at the floor and yes it is draging at high rpms... jacks says you shouldn't have any drag though..... I'm just frustrated to my limit right now...

Come on man its a DSM you have to have ALOT of patients otherwise sell it because they will do that to you. You do have that longer rod in the slave cylinder right?

GsXtUrBo98 06-05-2011 09:33 PM

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread

I have the longer rod in there. I won't give up on it but its not helping that I wanted this thing done by brainerd.. if it keeps going this way I won't be making it out there..

Did you properly bleed the clutch?
