I take that as an insult to anyone who reads this. Education doesn't mean shit in this day and age. I don't have a single degree under my belt but I sure have a good amount of useful experience. Care to compare resumes?

Deal with it. and what the Older members are trying to say is "Dont talk shit if you cant back it up." Thats basically what every flame thread comes down to, someone lips off and talks some shit that they cannot back up then they get flamed because we know that they cannot back it up.

It WILL be backed up

HAHAHA It's not the best tech school there is buddy... WyoTech would be its been proven time and time again. lol I'm going there right now and I have plenty of money for my car... I have paid for everything "myself" also. haha Look at the rate of who quiets UTI and leaves there to come to WyoTech lol your funny... WyoTech has a better placement rate and reputation also... haha

Kevin

oh and bring your 2g on against my "fricken laser" when ever you get around to it...

Re: Challenge Thread

This really needs to get back to the car challenge thread that it started out as before things went painfully south.
Name calling is seriously not necessary and shows immaturity. Comparing anything other than cars on this thread is pointless, someone will always make more money, have had more or less education and it will still prove nothing. And seriously, talking directly face to face, a lot of what is being said wouldn't be. If you want to have an education/income war, start another thread, I will jump in on that one, it could be entertaining

Education means a lot if you want to make some money and be able to live comfortably without any worry about money. Some day you will even need a diploma to work at McDonalds. If you haven't noticed, people are needing to get degrees for more and more simpler jobs these days. Good luck working at the top of a fortune 500 company with out any degree.

So wait, how many dealership sponsors are there for wyotech? I know for a fact the top percentage of people at UTI are sponsored from dealers like BMW and porshe and the rest of shool is paid for them. Is there a nascar program at wyotech? I would thing nascar would be at the top of technology and why would they have a nascar program at UTI if they were worse than wyotech?

santa 01-29-2005 10:26 PM

Re: Challenge Thread

I have heard of where the nascar graduate is...pushing brooms for them lol, and yes there are many many dealer sponsors out here for students. They come in and have presentations every two weeks, and its a different dealer or company every time. We just got done with BMW, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Audi, VW, and International. That was just last week. Your hot rod U is based on the material for the Chassis Fab and hi-performance class for a fact. Also there are some of the best welders in the world here teaching us.One of them used to weld for nasa...

Re: Challenge Thread

I have talked to BMW, Jaguar, VW, Audi, Volvo company reps about the schools and the kids going to their programs. they said that the kids that come out of Wyotech just cant pass the standard tests to get into the programs. Especially BMW, which uses a much harder test to get in. Also UTI has the nascar deal, and i guess that facility is super nice.
After being in the field for a year or so, i really dont think school matters at all. it dont teach you shit about working in the real world. You have to figure out 90% of the stuff yourself. School just gets you into the door.
If you do it right, get into a good program, and can learn quick, 60k is EASY to make your first year in the business. not alot, but it makes a decent living.

Also, at UTI, we had a wyotech grad there...working in the maintence dept. lol
