Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
lol, I am just following the trend?
Swifty have you considered BW turbos? |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Looks like I'm out of it. Got word today the PTE 67 is toast. Center section shifted over. So, MAP is shipping it to PTE, in hopes they will warranty it. I'm rather pissed, to say the least. I don't have money for a new turbo right now, and even IF they cover it, I'm out for a month atleast. So, looks like for the first time ever, I'm not going to make it to the dyno day.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Give me your spot at the Dyno Day :)
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
I didn't sign up. So, you should still be able to get on that list.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
well, I meant give me the money you were going to use for the dyno day, but on me.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
lol I wasn't going to spend money. I mean I will not be driving there to watch it all in my own car.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Turbo is back on the car, been driving it for about a week or so now. PTE didn't warranty it, nor was word ever given to me as to why it failed, or what caused it. So, I'm shooting in the dark. Needless to say, I think it's leaning me away from the 6262s as the winter turbo. FIRST though, is to fix a few things, clean the fuel filter, install this sick FP oil filter/restrictor thing (comes in tomorrow) and a few other things. Then, sort out this god-forsaken revving issue!
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Even I will get overly excited to see you fix that damn revving issue..
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
ME TOO! As, I need more revs for my winter ideas..more power is on order, as I..well, I just want more!
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Why not just drive the car and have fun with it rather than buying another new [current hot trend] turbo and having to redo your setup yet again? Glad its back on the road though, now keep it that way :D
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
I'm working on it for now. Then again, if someone came by with the right amount of money, I'd just drop the car off, and move on to something else in life. But, for now, I'm driving it, and loving it.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
+1! Are you sad now that you didn't spend the $400 or w/e to have diesel components rebuild it for your in 2 days or w/e? LOL its been like 2 months! Seriously, keep it on the road, keep driving it, focus on having fun with the car now, not future plans :D I know I am with mine!
Speaking of which, we should go do some frumrolls :D |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Honestly, I think you'd prolly kick my ass. I just don't think this car feels fast anymore.
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Whatever, you've got 100whp on me. Let's go play sometime for shiz&gigglez :D
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
You got traction too I bet. so, that extra 100whp means nothing.

I've never heard someone bitch so much in my entire life about a 500 something HP car jeez...
Maybe try some new tires???? |
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
lol, sorry..I'm a perfectionist, and in my eyes, this car is far from it. It's quite fun, don't get me wrong, and it does get looks, especially when the hood is popped. It's just not QUITE right..
|
Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!
Well, I would say you are lucky to have those problems, most DSMers have far worse problems than that. Like myself for example, although every other car on the road runs off of gasoline, mine apparently runs off of transmissions!!! Add a wedding to pay for and a kid on the way, and a Shep is kind of out of the question :(
