I think we should all go for a cruise to RF and pee on the track. On the way there we can stop for some photoshoots and maybe even overtake a weight station. I really wanna know what my car weighs.

If people want a big weekend of racing in IA there is the weekend of Friday Aug 3rd and Sat Aug 4th.

Cedar Falls has a Friday Fun night that gates open at 5:30pm and racing going from 6:30 to 9pm.

Then Sat TriState Raceway has open test and tune with gates opening at 8am. Racing till 4pm.

Then head back to Cedar Falls Sat night for their midnight mania from 9pm to 1am.

Head down from the cities around 2pm Friday night, Drive back at a decent hour on Monday. Hell, Friday night people could hit up Cedar Falls as well, I have a few freinds down there, and the night life is fun as well.

Would be a full weekend of racing and plenty of time to schedule it up and take time off.

That weekend sure sounds familiar.

Yeah, whoops, that's the Road America Trip. Which I'd still go to if I had the cash flow for that.

Well, there is a few weekends in IA that resemble that same opportunity. I know I'd be game for a weekend in IA and I'd race at least once. It's gonna be like $20 bucks to race and slower cars (like mine) don't need a helmet. wOOt.

That's a pretty good idea and may save your Rep some, appease the masses :D

BBQ and some dyno action would be fun.

Ya better decide something fast! The sunday is coming up! Perhaps a from dig action nearby? Otherwise, I've got wakeboarding to do!

I definitely thought about it, it's just hard with all the AWD guys that would want to dyno you know? In any case this was definitely a bummer, and I want to apologize again. We may have some ideas up our sleeve in the near future though ;)

Has anyone ever tried organizing anything with CF or Tri-State? After the Midwest Mayhem failure a few years ago and now the bad luck with the Proving Grounds, maybe it's time to move to a new location?

Do you think TC people would be willing to travel that far out for such an event? I know we would make the haul (we will be down there on the 22nd), but I would think attendance would be hindered significantly by distance alone...

Re: July 8th: 1st Annual Modern Automotive Performance Proving Grounds

I don't see why not. AJ and some others used to come down to Tri-State quite a bit 5-6 years ago. Iowa has a couple real strong GTP and Thunderchicken groups so they could be potential co-sponsors. Another potential co-sponsor is the DragSource group from Des Moines but I don't know if they ever got their shit back together after they had a falling out a year or two ago.

The Import vs Domestic Shootout organized by MIAC at CF wasn't a huge success.
