I've just purchased a '91 gs-t and when I turned the headlights on they rose about half way and stuck there. I'm assuming there is a relay of some sort that makes these work. The car has sat for a few years and needs some work. If there is a relay.. where would it be located? Any other suggestions on the problem are welcome. Thanks
Anthony

Not sure where the relays are on the 1g but it could also be the motor for the light. Those tend to go out quite often on the flip up headlights. But if both the lights went up and got stuck half way then its probably the relay or something electrical. Check the repair manuals if you have one handy.

Actually, this is a pretty easy fix. My first Talon did this back in 1998, so I can imagine most would be worse by now.

Take out the headlight, take off the plastic side covers and disconnect the motor from the headlight. If you pull up and down on the light you'll probably feel a bunch of resistance. There are several points where the arms that allow the light to move up and down connect and they get corroded. Spray each of these point liberally with some PB blaster or WD40 and keep moving the headlight up and down until it moves easily. Put everything back together, project done.

You can manually move the head lights up and down by turning the knob behind the motor.

on one side of the popup headlight is a red knob (it should be covered with a black cover) turn that knob clockwise (i think) to fully extend the headlight up and counterclockwise to closed position. note it will return to closed position if you switch your headlight in your car off/on. that will re-adjust both headlight from there you can figure if your hl motor is shot or not.
hope any info here is helpful

Lubricating all of the joints on the lights worked. Thanks for all the help.
