Hey everyone, I'm not sure why I am posting this because I still have not really regained my composure.

So I was leaving my job at Batteries Plus tonight. I came to a complete stop at the 2 way stop, and didn't see anyone so I started pulling out.

A car with no headlights came out of what seems like no where and I slammed right into her (newer Mazda 6). I was in my Dakota. I didn't know what happened or where I was for a few seconds, the shock the collision caught me way off guard. I immediatly got out and ran over to the girl to see if she was ok. She seemed fine so I called the cops.

Cops came and I told them what happened.

Damage is pretty damn extensive. I'm sure the Dakota is totalled. I'm definitly really freaked out right now because I never saw it coming, and my airbags never deployed. I'm unhurt, but my back is really sore and my mind is going a mile a minute.

Still not really sure why I am posting this here, but figured I should tell my story. I recieved a failure to yield ticket and a expired insurance citation( I couldn't find my new insurance card).

Thanks for listening, you guys are like family to me.

Sorry if this thread doesn't make much sense but I'm just a little bit freaked out right now. I'll post up pictures of the damage tomorrow.

Good thing everyone made it out ok.

As for the insurance ticket, just get something from your insurance agent stating you have coverage and show to them at the courthouse. They'll drop that ticket.

I got t-boned about 4 years ago in the talon when a guy ran a red light while I was taking a left turn. The insurance company found it to be a 50/50 at fault and I got a failure to yield ticket. I just took the ticket and paid it. I was in the middle of the intersection when the light started to turn red. The guy came down the hill and slammed on his brakes and slid into the side of my car. Mine was totalled out (over $6000 in damages on a $5800 car). I bought it back and repaired it. Still has a clean title since the title never changed hands.

BTW, what insurance company do you have? I have State Farm and they fought like hell for me since the other guys insurance company tried to come after me for damages. Hope everything works out for you.

Glad your OK! How does someone get a failure to yield at an intersection when you stopped and the other person did not..?? Im guessing you you should have stayed stopped until the lady with no lights passed? Thats gay, but I guess it makes sense.

Was ot totally dark out or sunset?

That's cops a fucking idiot! How could you get a failure to yield on a vehicle that didn't have it's lights on? Fight that ticket. I'm 100% sure you'll get it dropped. You'll want to get it dropped anyway for insurance reasons. Insurance companies just love reasons to jack your insurance up.

I got rear ended twice in Eau Claire. What Luck! The first wasn't bad, it was an old lady, we & the cars were both ok so we got in our cars and drove off. The second time was more painful, not so much to the car. Had to go get some x-rays done in the neck area. We settled it outside of court.

If you have any pains whatsover, you should go get it checked out. Later on you might regret it when you develop some sort of chronic pain.
