Precision T & E T3/T4 Dual Ball Bearing SC5031RE : 450 HP #18350

Does anyone have any experience using this turbo, or any word form some one who has used it?

That is a ball-bearing version of their extremely commonly used T3/T4 50-trim turbo. The dual ball-bearing stuff is new, but half of the DSM world has used a 50-trim based turbo at one time or another.

I would guess 75% of this board has experience with PTE turbo's. 2 shops on here are distributors for them. What do you need to know?

I have a PTE SCM50 on mine. I've had a small number of friends with them also, and none of them have had a hiccup with theirs, so I picked one up since it's lasted them just fine. I haven't gotten to push it at all really yet, so I can't tell you too much about it, except so far so good. I'm sure if you are real nitpicky, you can argue that another companies competing turbo in the same class is better because of this and that. But I just wanted something cheap, and will perform decent. I didn't need the best of the best. And this turbo seems to be exactly that, so it was great for me.

I loved my SCM50 on my 2.0. It was a great street turbo. I am now using a SCM61 on the 2.4 and like that a lot as well. PTE makes a decent turbo. Not top of the line, but they are pretty cheap so you can't expect too much.

I run a PTE SCM5031E and LOVE it! The 50 trim is really about all the turbo a guy needs. On my '99 GSX, I ran a 12.05 @ 117mph at around 23# with much more to go out of it. Easily an 11's turbo. I have nothing done to the motor internals except for 272 cams.
