*Car has been sitting for 1.5 years. HAS been started a few times succesfully inbetween that period.*

Ok, so i've gotten enough things on my car together to try to start it recently. My first attempt (3 days ago), it would just crank. Tonight, I did a compression test (120-125 dry, 140-145 wet - but this is after it's been sitting, rings coulda been dried out). After that, I sprayed some starting fluid in the TB. All 3/4 tank of old gas was drained out. 1 gallon of new gas was put in. After this, it started up and acted normal for about 1.5-2 seconds. After the starting fluid was used up, it would only CHOKE then die immediately. We did this several times, and found out you can even rev it to whatever you want without any flaws, until that 2 seconds is over. Then dead.

What the heck? FPR does not leak, Injectors have less than 1500 miles on them and are only 2 years old (rebuilt though, sold by KDM). Injector clips are Alan's. You could hear the fuel pump cycle during compression test (car was too loud to hear during fail-starts). Spark plugs are brand new. Plug wires are all fine.

Is it possible that I wired the wrong wires together when I put the new injector clips in? In the past, the car would sometimes start then kill, then you'd have to crank for 20 seconds or so to choke it to life. This was before the newest injector clips.

you say you only put a gallon in? you should try to put a little more in. your pump might not be able to build enough pressure. and also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to double check your wiring

odd, the same thing is going on with Blue89quest's car. we used my primary in his and it did basically the exact same thing.

clear the codes from your computer first.
make sure you are starting it with the primary (unplug the secondary).

you could test your TPS with a voltmeter to see if it's getting correct voltage and also putting out the correct amount at closed throttle. should be .5 volts i believe. WOT is 5 volts.

check your mechanical min-idle screw. i spose you could try unplgging your idle servo and using the mechanical screw to keep it idling.

make sure the wire from the distributor is connected to it's repective plug and that your mass air sensor is connected and for now, it should be stock.

good luck.

^Thanks, i'll try some of those.

How do you clear the codes though? Also, speaking of the MAS, i've been running a 1G MAS for a while now...i've noticed that WHEN RUNNING RIGHT, if you flip the connector (backwards) on the lid, it'll start then die immediately. I tested this to see if it was the problem lately, but it did the same thing as outlined in the first post.

I might, I plan on dropping the fuel tank and cleaning the filters, tanks, and lines if i can in the near future. For now the project is on hold.

Yeah, I would try to blow the fuel lines out. Seems like a headache though... Literally, I've dealt with fuel problems and they give me headaches :)
