Yeah... i'm pretty sure my clutch fork and/or ball is messed (2G TSi FWD), and the fork is rubbing the inside of the bell housing. Anyone ever have this problem?

Its messing up my clutch adjustment, and I replaced the clutch master cylinder, thinking it was that after i talked to someone on here with the exact same problem who solved it. Helped, but didn't fix.

So I pretty much have to pull my transmission right? If so, I suppose I should throw in a new clutch too.

If a slave cylinder isn't leaking, is there a chance it is still bad? Should i try that too?

Is there anyone around here who will help me change my clutch, or do it for me for relatively cheap? Let me know! I know that LSE (i think it is) does them, but its like $450 in labor alone....

TIA!

Yes $450 in labor including the flywheel machining.
I think we've done a hundred clutches as a group, and it still takes us a reasonable amount of time to get it done. Book is 8.1-8.3 hours, so we should charge dsmstyle members $654.08-670.23 for labor alone.
With that being said I am pretty sure there are a few members that will change a clutch in a cold garage for you for cheap.
Which clutch do you have in the vehicle? The fulkrum (clutch ball) could be toast, and the fork could be bent. When was the clutch last done? If the slave cylinder doesn't fully retract or extend quickly, its probably jamming up as well. (rebuild or replace).
Best of luck.

niteryder,

I wasnt bashing you guys, i know you do it cheaper than almost any shop around, and i'm sure you do an immaculate job. But $450 is just a lot of money, know what i mean? :o

I might just have you do it anyway though, but if anyone else wants to speak up who does side clutch jobs, please do!
