Badass!! I almost got one of those for a work car. Good gas mileage and a ton of fun. All my races going to and from work are on the highway too, so it would rock. Are you from MN?

Thats very cool. How much work did it take to put that in there?

The only way I would get a front drive would be to get one of those. If the opportunity to buy one came up, I would seriosly consider it.

Im from NYC. Matt D. invited me to register. The colt is nothing special yet. It took about 4 days to build because we didnt have he right tools for the job. It would have taken a day if we had 10, 12, 14, 17 mm sockets in half inch drive. Its like a regular talon swap minus a few spacment issues. Hopefully when i'm done it will be a 20g powered sleeper. But thats a while from now.

I could probably get one of these hybrid turbo's like a green or l2r or some gt3035 or whatever numbers they use now. But I just dont see me needing one of those "exotic" BB turbos for a car that weights about 2450lbs with me and a full tank of gas in it. I still have an old school mentality on dsm's. I still think that anything over 550cc injectors is insane. :)

Hyundai owns you. :P Welcome to our humble abode, Isaac.

He currently lives in New York. We used to play on the same CS server all the time a couple years back and somehow learned we liked the same cars and just kept in touch. I told him to come here because I figured you guys would enjoy his project. :)

That is awesome. If I had a few grand to toss around, that would be my #1 project buildup.

Is there anything specific that you look for when buying a Colt? Or are they all pretty much the same when it comes to the swap, and you just look for a decent body?

Look for a Colt GT or a Mirage Turbo. They come with 4G61T's. 1.6L turbos. The swap will be pretty straight forward. The tranny is basically identical to the 2.0 tranny except the 5th gear is shorter.

If you find an N/A colt or mirage youll have to mix and match mounts aswell as use a dsm wiring harness (annoying and time consuming).

You find a turbo colt or mirage its just like swapping dsm motors.
