Finally found a daily driver VR4 and man is it gutless. I wasn't really too eager to mod it but between driving my Stealth and Talon this thing is weak. lol I need mods stat!

Of course I couldn't just have a good day and be happy about my new purchase. Oh no, Anoka county law enforcement put a stop to that. Busted for doing 70 in a 55. The kicker is I knew I didn't go past 60 on the speedo and was mostly hovering around 55. I tell him I just bought it and I bet the speedo is off. He doesn't buy it and tells me it doesn't matter it's my responsiblity but gives me a 64 in a 55 anyway. I immediately go home, grab the GPS and check it. F'n speedo reads 46 when the GPS says 55. Damn cops. I can never catch a break.

Ouch, tough break on that one. At least he dropped it to 9mph or under. Nice pick up though!

I know what you mean about them being gutless. I was the same way when I picked up my GVR-4. I couldn't beleive the lack of power when I started driving it, and it is really hard to try to not mod it, especially as my DSM doesn't even run yet...

Nice catch.

They are kinda gutless stock. They have restrictive intakes and excesive IC piping. And a few more pounds. Tell me it's not rust free please! Don't kill a good one!

I'll take some pics today. The link below is the previous owners add. The paint is really good for a 15 year old car, but it's a MN car and this won't be it's first winter. It came with an almost new set of snow tires with rims. There are parts that are rusting but I didn't find anything on the body. The front bumper is messed up from an accident. The interior is great.

So how far can a 14B take a GVR4 with the extra weight? I'm thinking a 16G is what I ultimately want on it and I'd like to at least make about 350hp at the crank, but I'm not ready to spend the money for the 16G yet. Plus this thing needs to be reliable so I'm going to take things slow.

It's not that much heavier than a stock 1G, only a few hundred pounds if I remember. Your biggest thing is going to be getting rid of the mile long small IC piping and the oil cooler sized IC and the intake. Cool thing though, if it really hasn't been touched at all, the stock ECU is an EPROM.

Not all GVR4s are Eprom.

Not all GVR4s are Eprom.

~John That's the first I've heard of that. They might not be now after 15 years, but as far I know, they all were from the factory.

That car is, I checked it myself when I had it.

It had some really ugly 17's on it when I had it, Tony got it cleaned up well.
