View Full Version : e-brake locked?

We have a 1g that was sitting a while with the e-brake on because it had no motor. We went to push it, put the e-brake down and the car wouldn't budge. There is nothing under the car that would be stopping it and we are plenty strong enough to push it downhill. Think that is the problem? If so, how can I fix it?
Thanks

The ebrake cable is prolly stuck tighting the caliper... or the caliper is frozen in "brake mode," the piston is probably seized on one side or both...

Word, Jack it up and break out the BFH.

should I just try to pry the caliper open in back?

Do you care about saving anything on the brake setup? Rotor?

If possible, I would want to save them. I want to get the car running again.
