Holy Balls this video is insane. IT's 10minutes long but well worth the wait. It's the highlight video of the racing.

So much power in 10 minutes..haha. Kinda cool that Brent Rau is just as quick with his 4 banger :D. Very cool video.

Some of those cars have 1/2 the $$ into it to run "just as quick"
just an FYI.

When I saw brents car at his shop when he was first building it. He said he had just over 48K into it the way it sat.

-Chassis/Cage was completed
-Engine/Tranny/rear diff/turbo was installed
-His Tires were on the side wall
-And he had his original 1 piece Front end done.

But I guess that's what you get when you do a lot of work yourself.

Just because some of the cars don't look as blinging as Brents doesn't mean they don't have a ton of cash into them. I wouldn't go as far to say that they have half the money into them to get into the 6's. That would be a far stretch for most cars.

I agree with Brian, I am sure Brent has a hell of lot less into his car than most people going as fast as him. Since he does most of the fabrication and labor himself.

As Brian said, he doesn't have a hugely insane amount of money into the current car. He has been racing for almost 10 years though also, so he has probably spent a shit load of money with the changes over the years. He has an insane amount of money into the truck and trailer though.

I thought I heard he had almost 500K into that truck and trailer of his. Personally after seeing it first hand for the first time I was pretty impressed with it.

And actually Hopefully with the sales I'm going to be doing on the side from this storm I'll hopefully have enough money to buy an 24' enclosed trailer. Which I am hoping to mimic Brents Trailer on a smaller scale. (ie:white/Chrome, with Decals on the side similar to his that says "Barton Brother's Racing" or something along those lines) But again this are all just hopes and dreams who knows what will transpire.

Jenny is due a few gifts that we've put off like her own car (she wants a Yukon which would make for a great tow vehicle if she'll let me use it) But we both figure with this job and moving a trailer would be wise investment as we'd use it for a lot more then just hauling cars around.

That event makes the DSM Shootout look like a gathering of reliable cars.
