Hey guys,
This is an Autometer 20/20 boost gauge in my 95 gsx.
I have always had it work, but never hooked up the lighting aspect of it properly.
Also installed is an A/F blinking gauge. The red wire and the black wire is spliced with the A/F gauge wires.
Currently 1 is hooked up to one of the wires in my cigarrette lighter wires. The other also hooked up to one of the cigarrette lighter wires.
Now here's the problem, the Boost Gauge Light is always on. Never off when driving. Doesn't come on / off with my headlights, its just always on.

I was wondering, which cigarrette lighter wires do you hook up the boost gauge light wire in order to get it to light on and off ?
and if so, which wire?

Green/White stripe in drivers side kick panel. Some of those A/F gauges need a seperate ground too.An easy way is to run a screw into the pillar metal, and ground it there. Then just leave the boost gauge light grounded to the lighter.

Oh yeah, if you want the gauge to dim with the dashlights, you'll need to hook it to the dashlight circuit.I can't recall the wire color, but if you need it, I can find out.

Thanks very much. I'll do that tonight when i'm done with school.

The a/f gauge and boost gauge connects good. I just have one extra wire to connect whatever to make it come on and off with the headlights.

I did this quite awhile ago, so i can't remember which wire is which, but it works correctly. The a/f gauge is connected to the o2 etc, but one of its wires is spliced with the boost gauge light wire. The boost gauge light wire i connected it to one of the cigarette lighter wires. I connected it into the wrong one which always made the boost gauge light go on whenever the car is on. It doesn't work when car lights are on etc.. Its always on.

My car battery or something died yesterday, so i decided to fix this stupid wire in the meantime.

Thank you much.

I was gonna say, doesn't that drain your battery by having the light on all the time?

Hook it to the factory rheostat for dimming.
The green w/white wire is the ILL power wire for most of the accessories in the dash circuit.
