tranny leaking EKK!

so i've got a minor tranny leak. It'll leave a drop or two over a weeks time. Sometimes it makes a small puddle, other times it does not leak at all. Before today it hadn't leaked for about 1.5 years.


i put the car up on ramps and made sure it was the tranny. The seam is moist. So what are some items that I can stop the leak with?

it's not bad enough to have the tranny dropped and opened to reseal it.

does anyone make a silicone that you'd just spray on?

Where is the leak exactly? I had the same exact problem but my leak was from the seal/joint of the end case on the tranny near the fill bolt. It would just drip a couple drops every now and then and the area on the tranny was always moist. So I just got some RTV and resealed the end case and now it's solid, no leaks. Otherwise, like others have told me on this board, look for missing dowel pins, cracks, etc.

Make sure you guys are putting Yr, Make, Model, AT, or MT of your cars. I am going to instruct mods to just start trashing all of these tech threads without them.

I use RTV from a can from NAPA, it comes out like cheese wiz.

when using that stuff, will I have to clean the surface? or just slap it on?
