It's that time again. Time for the Tombstone Trail Road Rally. It is going to be this saturday.
For those of you that have not heard of this, or for those who have heard of it but haven't run it, this is a "gimmick" style rally. Everybody starts at a common place one minute apart from each other. They give you a packet of questions that need to be answered along the way. You have 3 hours to complete it. Everyone finishes at another common spot. You are then scored and results and awards are given.
The catch is, the first car out is 7pm (that's right pitch black out). And the answers to the questions are in Cemeteries! It is an absolute blast!!! I've done it the last 2 years and had a great time each time.
Official website (http://www.marblesoft.com/tombstone/index.html)
Registration in Cannon Falls starts at 6pm on saturday nite. Price is $15 for SCCA members and $20 for non-members. Prices are per car (not per person). Go to the website and check out past events. Also check out the 2005 rules section to learn how it is going to be set up this year. It's different from previous years.
BTW, the rallymaster for this event (and the last 26 years) is Mark Larson. This is the same guy that is the rallymaster for the Pro Rally events held in northern MN and used to rally a 90 Talon AWD back in the 90's. He puts together some great rally's so if you miss this, you really miss a good time.
