Why is it so hard to believe this is fuel cut?

It would just be very very hard to hit fuel cut with 660cc fuel injectors in there, unless the tune is way way off.

Shitty tune. I was running waaaaayyy too rich. I was PLUS fuel at every rpm point on my 5knob afc. I zeroed it all out, it doesnt knock, and its faster. It was knocking because it was too rich I guess. I had James help me for a bit today, thanks. In about 10 minutes I learned a lot about tuning. What i had done is anytime i saw 1 count of knock or more, I added fuel. And that turned out to be super rich. Thanks for putting up with my shit. SO i'm pretty sure I was hitting fuel cut those cold nights.

It probably wasn't really knocking from being too rich. Just misfiring and setting off the knock sensor.

And I doubt you were hitting fuel cut when it was colder, it was just running richer because of the colder temperatures.

If I were him, I would just get rid of the maft and 5 knob and get a blue faced safc. I don't know much about the MAFT either though. I am pretty sure he just had it tuned way to rich. He had the 5 knob on plus the whole way through the rpm range with his 650's on 20psi pump.

Is he running the maf-t blow thru? If so, why would you convert back to a MAS setup?
Sounds like he just didn't know where to start when tuning, it happens to everyone when they start out.
Either they are way rich, or they blow shit up, very few people "get it right" when they first start tuning cars.

He might be contacting you to help him more with the tuning. I told him you could help. I don't know much about the MAFT
