I got done putting a radio in my cousin's car that I am borrowing and the interriors backlights do not work and I do not get any warning for having the lights on. I need some insight on what is wrong and how to fix it. Thanks.
They worked fine this morning and I checked all the fuses.

take out your wiring & double check it. look closely at anywires near what you were playing with & make sure you didn't break something or pull something loose.
Are you sure you checked all the fuses? Even the ones under the hood?

all that I know about there are 2 under the hood and one on the driver's side and they all lookd good even the elements. the wires I was playing with were all in a harness and it was a kookup for the stock radio I believe idk if that coulda tripped something or not. What I want to do is have somone from this site or something look at it for me until my cousin get back but everything looks to be ok.

did you check the fusebox under the dash, near the clutch?

Ok, let's assume this is a 1G DSM. In the factory radio wiring harness there is a wire that runs to the dash/parking lights. If you did a ghetto splice install instead of buying a plug-in harness, I'd say you somehow got into that wire.

which wire is it that runs the dash/parking lights because that is in fact what is triggering it. I possibly have the power and ground in the wrong places and dont know which ones to go to. I don't have any more fuses so I want to be sure what it is before anything further happens.

Oh and do you guys know where a fuse or something would be so I get reverse lights? I'm pretty sure they worked before but don't now.
