I have a 98 gsx with a 2900 lbs pressure clutch and I was wondering if it is better off with a 2100 lbs? Since my tranny went out on me I was thinking about putting in a new clutch.

How about a 2600 instead?

I just installed an ACT 2100 with a Horse Power Freaks feramic disk. The disk got really good reviews from the owner of the world's fastest 3S. Only question is if 2100 is enough or if I should have gone with the 2600. I guess I'll find out next Spring.

What are you goals? I have an ACT 2100 in my daily driver. Almost stock pedal pressure. My left knee is busted so pedal pressure matters to me.

You mean a sbc disc?
Lol, I made a combo similar to that for johns talon last season.
HPF is a SouthBend Clutch dealer, like us.

The one thing you have to worry about with the feramic discs, is them siezing to the flywheel. It has happened to a few DSM guys. The flywheel you use seems to have a big impact on your chances of it happening also though.

No, they give you a choice. ACT or SBC. I went ACT since they offered the lightest PP.

I remember hearing about that a while ago. Do you remember any more details? Like what flywheels and which manufacters feramic disks? I'll have to look into that some more.

Yeah I know, they are offering prebuilt act kits, or a southbend clutch disc with an act pp. Just letting you know WHERE they got that disc from :).

I dont' know exactly. It looks like Horsepower Freaks says to only run stock flywheels with their discs. A lot of the DSM shops and customers who tried the feramic discs gave up on them because they kept seizing to the flywheel, or the chance it just too high of it happening for them to risk using it.
