1992 tsi awd 5 spd 6 bolt blah blah blah

Is it a common problem for the dip stick tube to leak/spray oil? I had to un bolt and bend my dipstick tube to clear my wastegate. Also, do you just yank the tube out of the block? I have a dip stick tube o-ring waiting for me at Brookdale MAZDA (haha). I'd really like to get rid of this fire hazard.

You need to unbolt if from the block first. Then it just yanks out, make sure to clean away any dirt from that area first so it doesn't drop into your oil pan.
Also, put a bit of lube on the seal as your putting it on the tube/into the block. That will ensure you don't tear it on install.

haha, I know to take the bolt out. Thing is, mine was actually bent, and not bolted in. IT HAD A HOLE IN IT. That explains the oil issue. I got another dipstick tube, put a new o-ring on it, but some oil on the o ring, and bolted it back into place. And it clears my wastegate!!
