Well soon I'll be starting to fix up my tsi awd which includes shooting a little paint on her. I'm looking for suggestions for a decent all-around paint gun for someone that's new to painting. I want something that would be good for everything, prime, base, and clear. Thanks

Gravity feed!!! Just make sure that everything is mixed and filterd properly. Dont go cheap either, Unless your only planning on doing it once. All depends on how well you want it to turn out and how much u wanna spend...Always seems to end up that way huh?
I know old man hill has painted his own car and whatever he used turned out to work real nice. I am sure he'll pop in here sooner or later.

I've got some old school siphon feed Binks gun that I use for primer. I also have a Devilbiss HVLP gun for base and clear. I'd hook up with someone who knows how to paint really well and get him to teach you some basics. I know guys who have been painting for years and they still suck, including me. :D Sata makes the good stuff. Don't forget, you need a compressor that will keep up with the requirements of the HVLP gun and a good filter/water trap/regulator setup. I also use those throwaway filters on the gun just before my reg. I just don't have the patience to paint really well.

Aww, don't be so hard on yourself B~mac... I'm sure that you can't be that horrible.
I assumed that all the compressor related things are already taken car of.

Devilbiss Finishline III gravity feed. They are an excellent quality, excellent spraying all around solid paint gun.You can get them in both HVLP or conventional and they run about $100 brand new(with a true 1 liter cup included) on Ebay.I have had many $300-$400+ guns, and ditched them all for this gun.Get the 1.3 tip for base/clear use and most primers. If you're spraying thicker primers you may need to get the 1.5 tip as well.
