Interior Light Stay On

my interior lights wont go off. its the one under the dash and the ring one around the ignition. i pulled out the fuse for now but i want to have lights. i know there's a sensor for the door but where is it?

The switch is on the bottom of car, inside the door jamb. It is pretty much directly below the door latch. It is on the car side, not the door. It has a black rubber boot around it.

i checked that and the open door light will go off but the inside lights still stay on. would that mean that the sensor is good or could it still be bad?

i went out and got a new door switch and they still stay on. all three of the talons i have owned had some problem with the interior lights. the lights would not come on in the other two but the lights stay on in this one.
