Both front halfshafts are nearly new (NAPA refurb units). The short shaft carrier bearing had ZERO play or lash in it last week when replaceing tranny/transfer. CV and shafts were still straight and articulating properly without slop.

Like I said before...all the way out (990 miles) I had no issue with vibration other than normal motor vibration of any 4 cylinder car I have ever driven.

Kenny,
This is more like a buzzing noise cum vibration. Not sure if this helps pinpoint the problem.

Does the car just have a loud exaust system on it?

Super4X4duty / 1quick4,
I tried pressing in the clutch at high speed - at 80, at 70 and at 60 on different occasions. When I depress the clutch, the vibration goes away - BUT, I am not accelerating in this instance. In another instance, when I depress the clutch and accelerate at the same time to maintain engine rpms, the vibration/buzzing comes back.

Gotta specify - its a buzzing type of vibration.

Its more significant at higher speed. I've been doing 80 often since I bought the car, so its more nociceable than everyday driving, unless I'm accelerating hard in the city - the buzz/vibration comes back. Its all Kenny's fault because he had a damn nice car!

I have to specify too - the car does not shake as a whole as a rewsult of the vibration - it buzzes annoyingly in teh dash, center console and A-pillar and vibrates those areas.
Seems to be both rpm as well as speed sensitive.

Yeah - too damn loud. LOL! I guess I'm too much of a wussy to take the noise too long. I'll have to go to Jet soon anyway when I have more money - I want a 3" exhaust with less bends in it than this one has. Kenny mentioned it had a 2.5".

I am actually having the exact same problem and its annoying as hell, It occured a long time ago, then I had an act 2600 and a tranny fix up and it decreased it, and now it rattles the entire dash at about 3200, not devestating, but im still new to the cars it tough to find out what it is,

This problem could be anything. If something sounds like it is vibrating in your dash then you should take off the dash and see if you can find it. That would seem to be the common sense thing to do.

id check your ball joints, tie - rods and the carrier bushing for the rear drive shaft. its probably something small like wheel balance... then again it could be anything. GL
