Little Silver Switch Driver Side ?

I own a 1995 GSX,
and i have never noticed this before, but

by the clutch pedal, when you open the driver door, you know how that bottom light comes on.
Well, right by it, i have this little silver switch that is always sticking down and you can push it up, but will go back down.

Any clues on what that stupid switch is?
Is it factory?

Its probably a function switch for an aftermarket alarm system.

My car has one there, like Eric said, it's the alarm toggle switch (installed by previous owner along with POS alarm)

ahh..
so thats what it is. i figured it had to do with the alarm system or the stereo as he had some other silver switch to toggle the speakers or something.
