Ok my laptop sucks - so I'm going to dedicate it strickly for my car only. And get a home Desk Top computer.

But I don't know anything about anything, other then what I will be using it for.

Primaries:
-Making/Storing Movies
-Storing Pictures
-DVD Burner/label writer

Secondaries:
-Gaming
-E-mail
-Online Chatting

That is all it will basically be used for. If I can get all that and more great. But that's what I'm looking for.

I have an old monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse. But if there isn't that much of a price break I'll just buy a set.

-Must have a Firewire port as that's the only way to download my camcorder to a Computer. Unless it has RCA inputs.

Price range:
$750 out the door.

Otherwise, go for a dell dimension 3000. Not sure if you can get those w/ firewire, though.

Build a system on Dell.com and keep a lookout for online coupons.

mac mini:
Processor and memory
1.25GHz or 1.42GHz PowerPC G4 processor with Velocity Engine
512K on-chip level 2 cache at full processor speed
167MHz system bus
512MB of PC2700 (333MHz) DDR SDRAM, expandable to up to 1GB5

Not bad at all. I'm gonna have to push for a mac too. Where you're gonna be limited is the in the game department, I've got an NES emulator w/a ton of games but thats as far as I get into them.
I don't see why you can't get a F.W. card though if you go PC though.

I definately would recommend going with a Dell. We've had 3 now, and they have been great (no problems like we did with our HP). Plus it's nice to be able to customize online what you want... just keep your eye out for deals, such as free upgrades, $xx amount off, etc.

Brian, keep an eye on www.slickdeals.net they put all the Dell coupons together for you and end up finding some amazing deals. The coupons seem to change every week, so keep your eye out for a bit and something will pop up that is a great deal. They do a lot more than Dell too.
