ok. well today i went to get get a fiav block-off plate from qpr. well i installed it and my idle problem is still there. i dont know what is wrong anymore. ive searched every and tried almost all of the idle surge checklist.

ive tried alot of things.

heres a list of what i tried.
-new isc
-new coil pack
-new ignition control module
-new plugs and wires
-boost leak test, only had a little (the smallest leak you can imagine) leak coming from the upper ic piping
-blocked off the egr

-tried the fiav block off plate but didnt work.

well my vacuum is like at around 8. and my muffler sounds like its giving a misfire. the timing on my data logger jumps up and down. my injector d/c is always around 8. im guessing i have a vacuum leak somewhere? but where?

also, my echaust manifold is cracjked. could that be causing the poor idle?

what did u guys do to solve your idle problem? plz, i really need help. been trying o fix my idle problem for like 5 days straight now.

Check your base timing, set it at 5 degrees BTDC for starters. Also check the alignment of your timing marks. Your timing mark on the crank pulley should be at TDC when both cam gear timing marks are lined up. You should be able to run a straightedge along the lines through the center of the bolts and have the crank pulley mark lined up as well. If not, the belt has skipped a tooth, which sounds like your problem.

Also, when you use a FIAV block off plate, you need to open up the biss screw quite a bit or use the idle switch to open the throttle plate a bit.

What's your BOV situation? Is it routed back into the intake? If not make sure it's not leaking and/or route it back in.

Is the throttle body clean? And the throttle cable adjusted properly?

Idle problems suck, I feel your pain.

my bov is routed back to the intake. its not leaking. i cleaned the throttle body already.

i am running out of options here.

oh ya, i forgot to mention that my valve cover has a little crack on it which is leaking a little bit of air. could that be causing idle surg?
